Who Is Responsible?

Many of you, especially Democrats, would like to blame the issue of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac on President Bush, while in fact he warned of the troubles back in 2002 and 2004 and was met with resistance from Democrats such as Barney Frank.

Barney Frank and fellow lawmakers are heading us toward socialism and if you watch to the end Bill Clinton blames the Democrats.

Here is an interesting video, 8 minutes, but it is worth the watch.

Your president approaches the congress with a large corporate welfare package with no restrictions or legal accountability. Barney Frank, demands protections for the taxpayer and it becomes socialism.

Are you afraid that the program will now fail and corporations will refuse the dough because it is tainted with Socialism?

If Congress had only just given them a blank check, then it would have been outright theft and all of the Republicans would be happy.

Rwiley,

That was only after your congress objected to additional oversight requested my president in previous years that would have prevented this mess.

So, do you now believe the capitalistic "check" is OK, but the socialistic "balance" is "evil"?

As far as your President's demand for "additional oversight...that would have prevented this mess", your are kidding, right?

You recall that just the news of him being nominated and elected in 2000 triggered huge financial problems which lead to a raid on Mr. Clinton's surplus.

During the first four years of his "presidency" he had a Capitol building full of sheep like John McHugh who gave him the keys to the treasury.

For the first four years, he had every opportunity in the world to demand all the oversight he wanted, including the reversal of the deregulation moves of Phil Graham (now the McCain financial adviser) and approved by Bill Clinton.

This morning I heard Stewart Barney, Fox News, say that 5 Banks in Europe failed. He also said that the Government will most likely pay .22 on the dollar for the "lousy debt". As a conservative, he doesn't want anymore government, but seems willing to take a risk on socialism as a way of bailing out the failing economy.

Wiley... John McCain says, Hor$hit

While we were all a tizzy about the bailout, my congress was slipping another 25 billion to the auto makers.
Your president has the opportunity to put a stop to this pesky socialism right now by veto. He could also pass it and write one of his famous signing statements which allow him to obey the part that says he has to give them the money but ignore the part that says the recipients have to follow a few rules insisted upon by your members of my congress.

What do you suppose he will do? Will he favor capitalism and free market and veto, or will he accept the charity of Barney Frank and blame it all on socialism?

Blaming Barney Frank and the Democrats for leading us to Socialism? The other day you were accused of showing your posterior then turned around and did it again.

Bailout fails - McHugh voted "Yea," but was on losing side - now the GOP blames Speaker Pelosi speech as "too partisan."

I can't stop laughing...

Roll Call Vote Here

Blame Pelosi - like blaming the kettle for being black? LOL

The bailout failed. The Republicans wanted their cake and eat it too.

They wanted to reap the benefits of a social program but blame the Democrats for Socialism.

Wall street is crying now because they wanted a handout. I say to them, do the same thing other suffering Americans do. Hold a fund raiser, a chicken barbeque and put charity jars in your lobbies.

HAHAHA. Barney Frank, then the MINORITY PARTY member of that committee, an a single congressman, stopped the efforts of President Bush, who had an 83% approval rating at the time?!?!?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME. You're ridiculous, IV.

John McCain failed. However, Sarah is going to suspend her campaign, cancel her debate and rush to Washington to oversee a new bailout attempt.

One thing I want to be clear on about my view of Speaker Pelosi and her "leadership:"

"You are the Speaker of the entire House, not just the DEM side of the House."

Her remarks before the vote were inappropriate for the significance of the vote to be taken on such a critical issue - that was NOT the time to blame Bush or anyone else - there's plenty of blame to share dating back 20 years (or more).

The Republicans blame the Democrats for the loss.
Even Wolf Blitzer is correcting them when they say it.

RW, as one of OUR great leaders once said, facts are stubborn things. The problem is there are recordings of sloberin' Barney, telling us there were no problems with Fan and Fred. You guys were more interested in lending money to people who couldn't repay the loans. Now that's nice, but it is now proving to be expensive for all of us. Buying votes, RW, is not a good idea. Problems is, now both parties have learned how to do it. Quit the blame game. Support a bi-partisan bill. Then avoid the Pelosi urge to have it both ways. Just a suggestion.

is this political IVth grade ?

6:25 is written the same way, and uses the exact same language as the original post to which it is responding to. I think it is high time that IV stop writing blog posts, and then writing anonymous responses to his own blog posts. It is very silly.

Nice try, I have not been around my computer all day, hence the reason for no post during the day.

The first Blame Game Contestants were The Republicans who held up a copy of her speech and blamed her. They said they voted against it because she hurt their feelings earlier when she said the party is over. I was not a contestant and was not playing at the time.

I congratulate all the Republicans and Democrats who voted against the bailout. They followed the wishes of their constituents and threw George Bush and his treasury raiders under the bus.

John McHugh was not one of them. He did not vote the way I wanted and he did not vote the wishes of his constituents by voting yes. tf, for example, praised him. Johh McHugh is smart enough to know that Darrel has taken over the hearts and minds of many his district's Republicans and realizes Darrel's coattails are growing mighty long and mighty strong.

I did not like John's vote (may I call him John?),
but it was a brilliant move.

My final offer on this crisis:

Wanna solve this problem - tomorrow?

I saw Sen. Robert Bennett (R-Utah) on the senate floor saying to the public: ”... if we don't help the banks, your 401(k) will go away, your other retirement plan will go away, your life’s savings will go away, your social security will go away, your Medicare and Medicaid will go away, and any future you thought you had will go away."

I posted my 10-point plan, and it’s out there for review [click here]

... but if you really want action, just tell the members congress that their retirement and healthcare and other perks will go away, too ... and then see how fast they act.

Or in the worst case, they can always write a one- sentence law that says,

"No member of Congress shall lose their retirement or other government benefits at any time no matter how bad this or any future fiscal, economic, or monetary crisis gets."

Watch relief come in 24 hours ... country first: Not any more, and not with the Yeahoo's in office ...

Sad, isn't it?
