No Pay, No Problem,

What is it with the Democrats, taxes and BO's vetting process? You can say at least one thing about his selections and the process, they are flushing out the tax cheats. First it was Geithner and now Tom Daschle who has not paid taxes until he was selected for a cabinet position. The New York Times is reporting that Daschle knew about the tax problem as early as last June, yet never mentioned it.

BO and his administration continually attempt to pawn off these problems as "honest mistakes" or "unintentional" yet these problems cast a dark ethics shadow over the One's administration. Daschle problems come from income he received from a company he will be charged with regulating as Health and Human Services Secretary.

And what did Chuck Schumer have to say?

“We wish this didn’t happen,” said Senator Charles E. Schumer, a New York Democrat who is on the Finance Committee, “but he’s chosen such quality people that nobody minds taking a bit of an extra step to help get them in.”

Did he really say - "nobody minds taking a bit of an extra step," would he have said that if it were a Republican?

It's not just Tom Daschle and his tax problems – it was Tim Geithner before him and his tax problems, and Bill Richardson before that with some contracting problems and money deals.

Sen. Chuck Schumer says, “We wish this didn’t happen but he’s (President OBAMA) has chosen such quality people that nobody minds taking a bit of an extra step to help get them in.”

Memo to Schumer from
Francis:
“That’s büllshït. Sir, wish it didn't happen in one hand and crap in the other and see which fills first."

Schumer's view is both pathetic and weak. But, on the other hand, he is not alone in holding that view.

Most like him in office hold that same view at one time or another depending on whether or not it's someone in their party under fire that they want in office no matter what the scandal might be.

The worst part? Schumer and those like him will get reelected – Daschle will be appointed.

Then soon (so typical of we Americans), we will forget it – until the next time, and then we'll be whipped up into another media frenzy, but that will pass and be overshadowed by another and then another – we’re used to it, I guess?

Am I cynical? You bet your ass I am – and I am at both sides of that politically corrupt aisle in the DC cesspool that we call “our government.”

Dan's right, on all counts. We won't hear a peep out of Wiley types. These guys knew about these "mistakes" a long time ago, yet never made a move to make good on things.

The media will ask a couple questions, then let it go. They be too busy worshippin' the Great One.

You always manage to prove your ignorance Anon., and prove my point. I was "peeping" while you were pooping.

3 days ago, I posted my objection to Tom Dashle's pending appointment and even explained my concern that the Republican block would let him slide through.

Then days before that, I posted my objection to Tim Geitner's appointment. The Republican block let that slide, too.

Yes, Dan is.

I also sent a letter to Mr. Schumer expressing my dismay. You should, too.

Good god we are screwed. With a whole cabinet of crooks how will America survive. In my opinion this attack on America is just as bad or worse than what the sept 11 gang did.

If that's what you said, Wiley. If you put party second to what was right, and opposed both these nominations, then good for you.

The media should be all over this, but they won't be. A little flash is all we will get. These crooks are in.

I don't know what all that means.

Remember how much we heard about McCain and the "vetting process" during the campaign? We don't hear so much about it now.

And that was when the media was making stuff up about Palin. The media didn't have to invent tax evasion. These guys came up with it on their own.
