Tanked!

The 800 pound guerrilla a.k.a. the stimulus package has tanked with the citizens according to the latest Rasmussen polling data. It never had a majority of support with people, but it did possess a plurality of support at one time, but not now.

In the last two weeks support for the plan has gone from 45%, to 42% last week and now 37% while at the same time opposition has gone from 34% to last week 39% and currently stands at 43%.

The message is resonating about how bad this piece of legislation is.

Gallup polling is reporting similar results with only 38% favoring the legislation as is and a combined 54% either favor rejecting the plan or passing it with major changes.

Both polls suggest support or rejection for this plan is highly partisan but Obama has lost the middle ground independents' support, which will force BO to favor changes if he truly wants to governing from the center.

Here is a little help to get your arms around 1 trillion dollars, and for the non believers the number translates to 13.7 million dollars a day since Darwin.

Boy, let me wade in here... bigtime (a Cheneyism):

FACTS are needed when FICTION and HYPE are NOT:

* The Dems CAN'T get what they want out of the Senate since many of the amendments require 60 votes, not a simple 50 ... maybe?

* If and when a Senate bill is agreed to, it will have to go back to the House, that will be the true test...

* Either it passes with many from the GOP on board, or not...

* If not, we're screwed ... and there could be blood in the streets ... sounds farfetched I know, but wait and see.

* If it passes, OBAMA signs it and then we'll see if IT WORKS OR NOT ...

* If it works the DEMS and those in the GOP who were on board all win ...

* If not, the GOP regains control in 2010 and the 2012 cycle starts then.

And, yes, IT IS "politics as usual."

At least that's what I see from my Foxhole.

So, HANG ON -- it might get rough.

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the Bible prohibits eating blood, and that this includes the storage and transfusion of blood, including in cases of emergency. In a market economy, money is blood.

With no blood the patient typically dies.

If the Republicans allow the American economy to die in order to take out planned investments in alternative energy development in the stimulus bill, just to appease the 45 billion dollar richer ExxonMobile and others greedy energy companies.

Dan is right, there will be blood in the streets.

Time has shown us all that, morally reprehensible acts are always found out and the justice delivered to those who commit such acts typically pay dearly. Dearly in deed.

But what good is all this money in the wild if the dollar has no value? And that is what is going to happen.Inflation is coming with or without this so called stimulation.I have been buying gold with my spare change since clinton deregulated fannie may in 95. A friend of mine worked in marine midland and warned me. Man was he right.

The Senate version of the bill may tank; hell, it may go down in flames or not get one single GOP vote.

We'll know by tonight or tomorrow - then back to the House - then more nastiness before anything emerges and is signed into law...

But, as the President said today (all fired up):

"What do you think a stimulus is? It's spending — that's the whole point!”

He got that right. And it is targeted according to him -- afterall, he DID win, right?

So, I say, give it and him a chance: if it / he fails, then he's out in one term.

But, if it and he succeed (which a lot on the GOP's right fear) -- then they ARE OUT even more and will wonder for decades -- maybe cease being the GOP?

Politics as usual? You betcha' and it's disgusting.

For damn sure, it ain't leading.

12:47 You're right. I have a very smart (just ask him) friend who used to make fun of people who bought gold. Now he doesn't look quite so smart.
