Do You Feel Safer?

Only time will tell whether the Obama diplomacy and foreign policy will work, but for now the public does not think they are less safe under Obama. Let's hope that stays true.

To the Republicans trying to gain traction with this, remember this - its the economy!

Do you feel scared? Same song, same dance. Republicans leaders have no respect for their dumb downed followers.

Here is the exact date when the Republican Super Tanker Party ran aground, and has been spilling industrial waste ever since. It is the economy, STUPID.
Just keep saying NO, like the two year old child who first realizes a word can have power.

I feel very safe. I now that this administration will handle every problem that's presented them. The gov't is there to take care of us from cradle to grave. Isn't that why people pays taxes. The majority of Americas feel the way I do and that is evidenced by Pres. Obama's huge margin of victory in the election. Didn't he get something like 75% of the popular vote? It's reflected in his approval ratings.

so the Bush "govern by fear" tactic borrowed from certain Euro leaders:
Infamous Hermann Goering Quote

"Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on
a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of
it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people
don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in
Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the
country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to
drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist
dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no
voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders.
That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked,
and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the
country to danger. It works the same in any country."

but what we really require is for all the parties to work together, not drag their heels like little children who aren't getting their way. Obstructionism isn't productive in the long run. And if Reps must be in charge for your arguments to work, it is for their own gain, not for the good of the electorate. I have nothing further to say on this webblog. This article says more than I am interested in associating myself with.

75% of the vote?? You're kidding right?? This must just be more Obama-euphoria.

You bootlickers should be ashamed of yourselves. We may have supported Bush at times when we should have been more critical, but never did we grovel, simper and whine in adoration and worship like you people.

Obama is a man. He puts his pants on one-leg-at-a-time like other men. He can't speak when the tele-prompter screws up. Admit it, and admit that he has spent more money in his first 100 days that any president has spent in his entire adminstration IN HISTORY!!!

So, please, zip up your pants and come back to earth. But stay away from subways, planes and trains because your village idiot, Lyin' Joe Biden, has summarily declared that is what we should do.

All Hail Obama, and pass the kool-aid!

Wheel it out, boys: tanks, armor, jets, ships, subs, hell, even STARWARS, II, whatever it takes.

Keep the fear and hype wagon in tow while scaring the crap out of everyone (there are terrorists behind every mailbox in America); the drums of war are beating again.

It worked for Gee Dubya and Uncle Deadeye Dick for 8 years - why not for Mitt, Rudy Gee, Bobby Jindal (not his real name), Palin, Jeb (yuk, another Bush?), and all the others who want back in power so badly that they will dream up anything (even new "Contracts for America").

Trouble is: that dawg won't hunt no mo' ... DEMS are silly at time (a lot of the time), but they ain't stupid and neither is the public this time around ...

The same old, same old will not work. Americans, I believe across the board, will not buy that line again.

Proof: Look at the numbers of DEMS in the House, Senate and State Gov. seats.

So, to my friends in the GOP, and yes, I consider many my friends, you can allow your "leaders" to pedal or peddle that same old stuff ... but, your minority status will shrink more.

IMHO ...

Yeah, maybe, I was half asleep when I read it. But the first two Anons. already had me ticked off. I stand by what I wrote about the bootlickers, euphoria and kool-aid, especially for Anon. 6:56 and 7:07. The silver lining is the Obama/Biden crap we've been seeing for the past three months, if it continues, will ensure a one-and-done Obama administration.

A recent NBC/Washington Post poll asked people to identify with a political party:

b "Republican: 21 percent..."

That is not a pretty picture ... not one bit.

In the past, I've always hoped that I'd be around when government's bills came due. That way I'd be there to laugh at all the spending idiots. Now, I'm not sure I want to be there.

Imagine when all the kids get back from the mall, look in their empty fridges and see how little their take home pay is. Then who is going to be the dumbed down followers?

But then again they won't have a worry in the world. All will be free. Freedom will be gone but stuff will be provided, no matter how irresponsibly you live your life. For awhile.

On second thought, I want to be there. I want to see the look on all your faces when this party comes to an end.

I have stated more than once that the "Obama bow to the Saudi King" was beneath any American president, period.

The "hey bro' handshake with Chavez" was also pretty demeaning (to me, maybe not to Obama and Chavez)...

Having said that, the GOP would be way off the mark (more than they are now) to use those two things, plus "lack of security or wild spending" by Obama and/or the DEMS in 2010 or beyond as campaign issues, IMHO.

Scare tactics are weak and spending - time to review the Reagan-Bush-Bush years my friends... that is IF facts matter and they should.

"Leadership and problem solving" SHOULD be the main focus of any government official at any level of office ... following that, we will be safe, secure, and not in any wild-spending mode serving the public as well they should, IMHO.

All the former great New England/Northeast "moderate" GOP
U.S. Senators are all gone, except two: both women (O. Snowe and S. Collins, both from Maine), yet the GOP continues to say they are the "big tent party; mainstream, average hardworking middle-class Americans" -- sadly those are merely words -- their actions show otherwise and that is the GOP's problem.

I suspect but have no way to tell for sure, just my hunch, but we are apt to see more and more GOPers jump ship and abandon the 'hard-right' strangle hold on the party before next November's midterms ...

"Moderate" will become their middle name and campaign slogan, but it may be too late? On the other hand, gimmicks sometimes work - honesty and follow-through after the election tend to take a backseat in the end... a cycle that is hard to break.

Was Greenspan your guy? Did the SEC see any problems on the horizon? Did Clinton leave Bush with a surplus? Did GWB decide to fight wars using expensive contractors while increasing the Pentagon budget? Were the bailouts underway before Bush left office? Was Bob Ney, the man who prevented southern states from restricting banks from issuing predatory home loans a Republican? Was Jack Abramoff a friend of the Bush White House? Was Henry Paulson a Bush appointee? Is "traction" a word first used by a Democrat named Bill Bradley? Is McHugh remiss in failing to give us a better explanation why the North Country received NONE OF THE FIFTYNINE MILLION DOLLAR STIMULUS funds from the USDA? (Note the gaping hole in the USDA map http://www.usda.gov/recovery/map/). The answer to all of the above is a resounding yes. You have Palin and Limbaugh as party leaders and you expect us to vote you guys back in?

BS Dan. So you're claiming all the moderates are gone, excect Snowe and Collins, who just happen to bend over often for donkey types?
Is it a coincidence that these two are champs of the stand for nothing wing of the GOP? I'm sure those are your favorite types.

This exchange has been one of the weakest yet. If there are no attacks, donkeys look good. If there are, donkeys look bad. So for now, being smug is fine. But if I were you, I wouldn't talk too much just yet. You fools have been responsible for the security of the nation for three months. Be proud, but don't be too proud.
