How do you provide coverage to 46 million more people,
Improve the coverage to those that currently have insurance,
Lower cost,
Yet still pay for this without increasing the deficit? The CBO says it will increase the deficit.
The Great One's speech was extremely partisan and short on details on how to pay for Obamacare!
If fraud and efficiency is the answer then why not do that first and front the money for the plan?
"A government big enough to give you everything you want,
is big enough to take away everything you have"

I HEARD THE SPEECH MUCH DIFFERANTLY THAN THE BLOGGER!
MOST TRANSFORMATIONAL ACTIONS OFTEN HAVE SOME WHO ONLY SEE THE NEGATIVES . FDR WAS CRUCIFIED BY THE OPPOSITION FOR MANY NEW DEAL PROGRAMS WHICH ULTIMATELY RESULTED IN POSITIVE ACTION . I FOR ONE AM WILLING TO SEE ALL OF OUR CITIZENS COVERED AND THE EXCESS PROFITS EARNED BY INSURANCE COMPANIES AND THEIR EXECUTIVES WHILE AT THE SAME TIME DENYING COVERAGE THAT HAS BEEN PAID FOR IS LONG PAST DUE
I agree why can't we work at reducing the waste and turn around the credit card government spending and actually pay cash upfront for a program. Government already has a smaller model that is not working for them. How do we think getting bigger will make it better. That did not work for the car industry either. Let's think practical here.
It may have been "short on details (which I think it was not)" as you say, but Presidents, all Presidents, outline broad ideas and set goals as they put forth plans and ideas: CONGRESS' duty is to fill in the blanks, or not. That's the process.
The defining moment for the evening was not the great speech (the Kennedy part was the most emotional I've ever heard) - it had a clear goal and way to get there, but instead it was that GOP Redneck goober Yahoo from SC (Rep. Joe Wilson) ... and his shouting "You lie" -- unheard of in such settings -- totally undignified and shameful.
"You lie!"
Not only did it define the two parties and where we stand on this issue, but it defines the rabid right that is totally out of control as they continue to whip the flames of hate towards this President and for everything or anything he says or does or tries to do.
It may not be just a reflection on Wilson, per se, but it sure is a reflection about the character of the people who put him in office -- let's hope they have enough sense to kick his raggedy ass out next year!

The speech was about the best I've ever heard on any single issue. And, as expected today, FOX (yes Faux Gnus) is sparsing every single word -- every single word. That is also pathetic.
You lie,
Maybe if Obama and the left would stop lying about this plan people would stop accusing them of lying.

DMF I love it when you point a finger about hate and then end with "kick his raggedy ass out next year!" and show you have many more fingers pointing back at you.
4:32 - Wilson deserves to be booted out of office.
But, the nitwits in SC will decide that - after they solve their Gov. and Sen. (Graham) problems first.

Wilson is my new hero! Finally a republican with some naads to speak out against the joker in chief. It is way past due because the american people are leaving the republican party in the dust.
Nitwits in SC? Now Daniel, where do the voters of NY stand on your scale of intelligence? "Rabid right, flames of hate, Fox News..." Gotta hand it to ya. You've covered all the regular bases. Nice job.
Dan, in all your wars, didja ever go up against a gas attack? Every time I read one of your posts it feels like I did.

I know where this new yorker stands. NY budget deficit for 2010 is around $16 billion.South Carolina $725 million. You tell me where the nitwits are. It's true most people don't grasp the dif between a million a billion or a trillion especially ny ers. I got a hunch Joe Wilson aint goin nowhere but up.Who knows he may be our next (gulp) president.
