Wascally Wabbit

Now six months after sticking it to the hunters with increased fees in the New York State bloated budget Assemblywoman Russell wants to portray herself as a hunter. Typical politics - say one thing and do another.

Through a taxpayer funded mailer she is telling you to avoid the higher fee and pay by October 1st, what she did not say is that she voted for the higher fee.

But, while Russell claims you can avoid new hunting fees (which increased up to 1400%) by buying before Oct. 1st, that is not exactly true, you can't avoid them. The new fees are already in effect, except for certain LIFETIME licenses which cost many hundreds of dollars.

Addie Russell and Darrel Aubertine voted for these new fees and now try to pretend that they're doing us a favor by warning us that higher costs are coming!

These new fees could be devastating to the North Country which depends on hunters for a huge infusion of tourism cash in the fall and winter.

Someone should tell Addie that is not a deer she is petting in the photo on this brochure.

Someone tell addie her time is running out..shes a one timer

Dan, the topic is hunting. What did you tell the folks in Blue Mountain Lake about your hunting experience?

I agree wholeheartedly. Addie should never have been elected, and certainly should not be returned to office. But I have to say this. During the campaign, her opponent, while appearing on the Hot Line, was questioned about the need for property tax relief, and the impact of education spending on that tax level. This man then responded that education is important and that he hadn't looked into property tax levels at that point of the campaign. Now I ask you, how could we have elected Addie's opponent? Anyone who hadn't "looked into" the importance of property taxes but was running a campaign in NY State is either nuts or hopeless. WE DESERVE BETTER CHOICES THAN THIS.

This is the problem when you choose nice people to run for office who don't have a clue. We end up with another person who doesn't have a clue.

I have news for NYS Having always purchased all licences including archery, fishing, trapping, muzzle, small and large game for 27 years give or take. That is over, all I will buy this year is a big game. All other activity will take place on my own property. The state can kiss my *** lets see how a $80 loss grabs em. If enough people do it maybe they will smarten up.I'm gonna run it by the club.

8:09 ... I didn't tell them anything and they didn't ask... but FYI: I've been a lifelong hunter since I was a young teenager back in rural So. Illinois ... I used to hunt squirrels with a .22 and rabbits with a single shot .410 and deer with a 1903 springfield with 10x scope.

What else you want to know?

And, of course for two years in VN, I hunted VC and NVA... how's that grab you?

IV...are you working for RACC now? I saw this release on GT a few days ago written and released by RACC...Arent these the same people who ran your failed campaign into the ground? I think you should cut ties and think for yourself for once.

Raising taxes on hunters and fishermen! Is there no stone unturned in Darrel and Addie's thirst to bleed us all dry?

I agree she's a one timer, but to say that tourism will be effected by the license increase is stretching it a bit, like saying an ATV coordinator will increase tourism. It's all about Addie.

Disagree, 7:07. Take a look at this study:

* Hunting and fishing pump $3.3 BILLION into NY's economy.

* 300,000 non-resident sportsmen come to NY for hunting and fishing each year.

* 28,000 rely on sportsmen for their jobs.

Raising taxes on these people is biting the hand that feeds us all.

And take another look at 9:39 PM -- s/he's voting with his/her feet!

But also remember who's responsible for all these new taxes and fees when you enter the booth in 2010.

The focus should be on Aubertine - he is the one who turned his back on North County hunters when he could have made a difference. Instead "Senator Proxy" voted for the budget and it passed by one vote. Had he voted for his North Country constituents instead of with the NYC bosses these ridiculous fees never would have passed.

Who are possible candidates against Addie and Darrell?

Anonymous said...

Hey Canmandan, I remember when the DEC purchased large tracts of land from the paper companies, people who had camps for years on property owned by the paper companies had to give up these camps. I remember the local pols were powerless in preventing this, Chipper I can't see someone not coming to this area because they've raised fees. Typical political piece on both sides of the fence, hopefully someone will run against her.

Face it, folks. The decision has been made. After years of marginalizing gun owners, the politicians do a verbal dance about sportsmen numbers are down so much they don't respect you any more as a political force. There are just as many Bambi lovers who will vote against you as hunters who will vote for gun rights. And believe me, gun rights and hunting are related. Not the same thing but related. Bottom line. You are no longer worth listening to. Do you actually think NYC Donkeys, who run state government, and any respect whatsoever for hunters? And Addie and Darrel have no real power over them. You decided last election that you wanted Dem control. Now you got it. So shut up.

New website and online petition on Albany's (read, Darrel's hunting fee hikes.

Fleeing the state is not the answer, the politicians will follow you there. Should the saying now be "Addie get your gun"?

"Has anyone seen my pantsuit"

Yous have to be wee bit overweight. A wee bit blond. Med length hair. Pudgy face and always hold your eyes open WIDE for photo opz. Bein' from somewheres else can actually help. Soccer mom, hyphenated last name, inexperienced, pants suits (already noted) and have a husband four sizes smaller than you and SHUTS UP ALWAYS. Talk edjacation, forget whatever you believed on guns or hunting, talk peace, love, avoid reality on taxes, and you're in. On the state level, quietly submit to Shelly Silver. On the fed level, quietly submit to Chucky Schumer. Of course, always avoid using that word.
