Way of Life

You could say "one of us" independent - principled, that is Dede's theme.

dede's the best choice. But when is she going to post her political views on her website?

Dede is the best choice for who??? She does NOT represent my views. The last thing we need in the north country is another "milk toast" politician representing us.

This is the woman whose brother is a former Wall Street guy who runs a holdings company in NNY correct?

Apparently, he's involved in another wheat milling venture that's modeled on grants and incentives from the state and federal gov't and wouldn't be able to swim without subsidies or incentives (ie. tax dollars that provide hardly any jobs).

Is this the kind of politician we want following John Mchugh's footsteps? A woman whose clearly benefiting from a nice nest egg accumulated from a wealthy family member who used Wall Street money to buy out a few NNY businesses and suck as many tax dollars (Congel-style) from Albany to mitigate capital costs?

Maybe there's not much choice when it comes to the candidates. It is very sad considering the opportunities that exist in beautiful NNY with eco-tourism, military contractors, proximity to Canada (trade & logistics), and much more. Let's move beyond agriculture for once and concentrate on diversifying to stand-alone industries that will spur sustainable economic growth and innovation in NNY.

Let the Wall Street wannabes float their family savings elsewhere.

When is she going to come clean on her involvement with the Wize Buys/and everything else her brother and her have done?

Propecia, knows the answer.

Her intent was to create North Country jobs? Instead her results have been to destroy NorthCountry brand reputations, Alteri ,Sackets Brew Pub, Hacketts, can't pay the bills, can't pay the taxes but can personnally profit; while lining there own pockets the good names of the previous owners are trashed. Three card monty money scheming shyster. Just imagine the destruction she and Tommy can cause NNY when she is in Congress with the rest of the crooks, Tom Scozzafava for North Country betterment CZar...A vote for DeDe is is a vote against Northern New York.

Oh, poop - why come clean? No need to do that.

Why discuss tough, hard issues and actually work hard and offer something as a starting point to any possible solution?

Why do any of that when a slick, clever, well-funded, touchy-feely (or is it feelie) Ad will suffice?

Indeed, and in all fairness, Bill Owens has zero at his homepage except a plea "send-me-more-money:"

Bill Owens Needs More Money. The issues? What issues?

The reason hacket's and wisebuys are in such trouble is wal-mart. Wal-mart has deimated many small businesses across th ecountry.

I mean they have 3 stores in
st. lawrence county alone. There should be no doubt that has a significant impact on Hacket's sales. Let's face it the days of small retailers are nearly over (except for some niche and specialty stoes like antique stores and tourist shops).

Time to make way for the big box stores. Which is really pretty sad, imho.

Count me among many former supporters who will NEVER vote for Ms. Scozzafava again after watching the destruction of Hacketts .

It is time for her to get a real job. Her snout has been in the public trough too long .

And the rest of her shows it.
