Intense

This election is intense down to the wire. A Hoffman poll watcher had his tires slashed in Plattsburgh according to a police report.

That'll bring a few more votes for Mr Hoffman.

Political IV 10/23/09
Hoffman wagon coming unhitched?

It appears when you get down to the issues and beyond the rhetoric that may be the case.

This kind of says it all.

The problem with this easy cruise is Hoffman. He's not particularly nimble, in terms of his presentation, and it's not apparent that he has a particularly good grasp of the issues. I found this when we spoke about health care, and Jude Seymour seemed struck by some of Hoffman's non-answers before the editorial board of the Watertown Daily Times.

HAHAHAHA, its amazing how fast you can change your mind on who to support! Less than 2 weeks ago you hammered Hoffman, now he is the next best thing to John Mchugh. My you are a peculiar little man.

no one's slashing any tires. read the whole story, police said it was probably running over a glass bottle

reminds me of that crazy girl in PA who carved a backwards B on her face

Probably someone from one of the hundred plus unions that supported Owens.

I can't wait. Finally we prove that you can be competitive in a race without the Union people.

Funny how the media does control stories... not events per se, but the way stories and events are portrayed. Case in point, is that I and I suspect many others did not know this fact Brian McGrath until now:

THE EXTRACT:

"Bill Owens was selected in a final round over Brian McGrath, a Manhattan lawyer with a house in the district, who is openly gay and was frustrated at the selection at the time."

Openly gay? That point was never mentioned anywhere that I saw or heard about during the selection process and "candidate profiling."

My point? Someone in the media knew that months ago. Did it or would it or should it have made any difference? Not with me, but I suspect with some it may have.

My point ... the media keeps back little tid bits and modifiers of info in order to put them out when they need more readers later by stretching the story to an end that the readers can comprehend in one package.

according to what "police report"? in fact...

Capt. Michael Branch of the Plattsburgh City Police Department said the incident wasn’t criminal mischief, but rather a tire-meets-bottle affair. “This was not a tire slashing—this was some guy who drove over a bottle and cut his tire,” Branch said.

(via wsj.) it would be nice if you could update your original post so as not to mislead readers who don't click through to the comments.

Nice try IV to cover up for the Hoffman people harrasssing voters. Called 4 times that I have been told of. This flat tire was from a glass bottle. It looks just as flat as the future of the Jefferson County GOP.

This eval of the GOP from a bigtime GOP Gov... check it out:

Gov. Haley Barbour R-MS) Nails GOP in the 23rd as Smoke-filled Room Hacks who Picked Dede

I love it... don't you? LOL

With this trend, Dede is taking votes away from HOFFMAN -- I guess she does get the last laugh...

about 5% she pulled ... HOFFMAN is going to lose about 5%...

Dede is robbing HOFFMAN of the seat...

Yup, that's the measure of the evening. Dede getting the last laugh. Trouble is she gets in on us.

That's ok, we be the butt of many jokes.

Hoffman robbed Dede weeks ago when he turned on her. The republicans have no one to blame but dishonest Doug.

Doug Hoffman runs on principle over party. Dede Scozzafava shows him how it's done.

Dede is a non existant pol now. She's done. But it really isn't her fault. She was chosen by some Republicans who have no idea what it is to be Republican. It wasn't the social stuff, as we can disagree on that. It was the money. The one issue that we Rep's agree on is that you can't spend money you can't have. You can't steal from your unborn grandchildren. That is the difference between us and the Dems. It really is amazing that this Hoffman guy did as well as he did. But now we've endorsed more Pelosi stuff. At least here in our district. Nationwide we sent the right message. Here, there are too many people who were afraid to stand up. They have been sucking the government nipple for too long. Our grandkids aren't nearly as important as we say. Quietly, and in a voting booth, we are cowards.

Dede's fault - not really - but she should'a stayed in the race until the last chicken came home - she probably would have won... LOL.

Maybe he (the Hoffman poll watcher) should have carved a backwards 'O' (for Owens) in his cheek instead of ruining his own expensive truck tires.

Is that supposed to be a joke? Have you completely forgotton the Bush years? Especially TARP, Medicare prescription drug benefit and No Child Left Behind?

Dede is all about Dede. She backed Owens, not on priciple, but out of anger. But for Hoffman she would have easily carried the district. She was mad and him and was going to do all she could to make sure her nemesis would not win.

She did more for Owens then she thought about doing for Barclay, for Renzi or any other Republican candidate. Why, because nothing was in it for her.

She is not a team player, as the saying goes there is no "I" in team but there is in dIck

Oh stop it 6:57. No Child had nothing to do with us bankrupting ourselves, and I would have though legislation written by a dead Kennedy would have excited you. It doesn't make much sense going back years to blame others. What we are doing RIGHT NOW is killing the country. And we're about to do it again with a huge health bill we won't even understant until it's too late. On the state level our Gov, who at least is trying to have a discussion, can't even get the Donkeys to show up to hear him speak. They do not want to face reality. And to their credit, neither do we the voters. We just want to go on pretending, thus stealing from our kids, hoping it will all go away. Ah well, like I've said, I got my government job. Your kids' future is a cheap price to pay for me. Excuses and bs are just fine, for me. Didja catch the latest NYSUT ad? Amazing crap. Already fighting any cuts that might impact them. It's nice to see so many folks lookin' out for your kids. But if you will keep listening, I'm sure they will keep shoveling. It sounded like the jist of their message was we have the money to pay them saved up somewhere in hidden accounts. And if not, we can save it by saving money on "environmental" and "energy" costs. OK, that'll be neat to see. Sounds real politically correct to me. Cool. How long will we listen to this bs? After this last election, the Owen thing, I guess a wee bit longer. The Gov says Dec will be tough for the State to make their checks good. How funny.

Betcha mine will be good.
Thanks Kids.
