MSNBC At Its Best

MSNBC "The Place for Politcs"

Norah O’Donnell noted in vain that Palin’s fans were “largely white — almost no minorities in this crowd.” Matthews chirped the same line later, assailing the “white crowd.” Walsh likened the gathering to a “paranoid tea party.” Matthews hammered away at the “monochromatic” scene.

Does the brightness blind you?

It is interesting that the color of a human is of little concern to a blind person and certain musical sounds don't bother a deaf person. Better that the media jackals were deaf and blind naturally rather than selectively as they are now!

Maybe they didn't get the memo.

So when the news tells it like it is when it fits you its fine, and when they tell it like it is and it doesnt they are racist?? Sounds like the same old conservative train of thought to me.

Actually a quick run through the demographics of Sister Sarah's Magical Book tour, and one has to be struck by the fact that some of these small cities like Cincinnati, Fort Wayne, Grand Rapids and Rochester among others have sizable minority populations. I'm agree with Ms. Palin on this one, I don't have a clue as to why only white guys with door knocker beards and baseball caps are showing up for these book signings. Must be something in the mayonnaise.

A little "white chorus line," eh, IV?

Now who's a racist?

All Republicans are racist.

We've been told.

i think this is a pretty fair critique of msnbc, and actually the "left" more generally. i think racism has basically nothing to do with the palinites or the tea party movement or that general stream of things (sorry i'm being too crude in lumping people together). obviously, there are some individual exceptions to this. but racism really doesn't seem to me like an important animating force. it's too bad that people on the left choose to focus on it nevertheless -- it just distracts from the many other perfectly worthwhile things to critique!

Yeah, I agree Frog. At least with the part of your post that I understand. But always remember the reason why we have a##holes who can't get off the race issue. It works. People throw that stone, and the targets get scared and defend themselves. There is no price to pay for dolts who use this as a weapon. It's about time the accused started doing more than just denying the obvious. They need to counterattack and call their accusers for what they really are.

Dannie, your turn.
