Delinquent

Senator Aubertine's leader in the Democratic controlled Senate, Senator Pedro Espada, is past due on his $61,000 fine.

Blair Horner of the New York Public Interest Research Group called Espada's behavior "mind-boggling.... He should be operating at the highest standards."

I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on TV, either, and I do not know all the rules/laws, or the in's and out's of this case, but, it seems to me that Sen. Espada needs to be removed from office now, IMHO.

Most of the time I can agree with Mr. Francis' point of view, but not today.

I had felt the same way, but that was before Sen. Espada came back from the dark side.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night, does my opinion count too?

So... Pedro is the devil, unless he's a Democrat...

i'm not quite sure that i'd have espada thrown from office just yet, but it's completely ridiculous and disgusting and shameful for the dems to have him in a leadership position.

I'm with Kernit, the Espada situation should be studied a bit. When he sided with the Republicans there were grounds for dismissal from office. Now that he's back, towing the line and voting donkey, there is no reason to move "just yet."

These things must be handled delicately.

Maybe he just misunderstood, he likely thought it was back taxes he owes and not really a fine. We all know dems don't care to pay taxes.

Yes, true - when sh*t is removed, one must put on toxic-waste gloves...

"The Three Musketeers Go To Albany!"

Starring: Senators Espada, Skelos and Smith.

Anyone of our three characters could have stopped the Senate gridlock.

None did.

Espada may be the heavy, but the other two enabled the mess, too.

"All for one and one for all!"

Proof again that both parties do not understand that the citizens cannot afford their state government.

What doesn't bend, breaks....

"When (Espada) sided with the Republicans there were grounds for dismissal from office."

Do you people read this stuff before you press "send?"

Espada--every American--has a right to associate with whomever they want. You can't be removed from office because you chose to be seated with the GOP. That's absurd!

The hypocrisy is in people like Darrel Aubertine who say Espada is unfit for public office, call him a "thug" and a "thief," "unethical" and assorted other insults -- then turn around and elect him Majority Leader!

You can't have it both ways -- he's either a slug or a patriot!

Pretty easy to explain.

Republican = slug

Democrat = patriot

Have you not been listening?

Maybe we can get the "secret investor" of Tom and Dede to pay it.
