Anticipation

Come Monday will the word "Scozzafava'd" become part of the political lexicon much like "Bragmaned" did?

You might recall Mike Bragman from Syracuse attempted a coup on Shelly Silver but Bragman came up short, His future in politics was defined by that moment, he ended up going from a high profile leadership position with a nice office to below rank and file member level and working out of a broom closet before he eventually departed for good.

What is Dede Scozzafava fate as Leader Pro Tempore? The minority leader of the Republican conference in the Assembly, Brian Kolb, said she is not in danger of being kicked out of the conference, but did not offer the same guarantee for her leadership position in this article.

And if Kolb is wondering whether or not the locals support a decision to take action, read what Jefferson GOP chieftain Don Coon has to say in the article:

“I campaigned for her. I played the loyal soldier and held my nose as I worked for her and then what does she do?” said Jefferson County Republican Party Chairman Donald Coon. “She doesn’t care about the GOP. She doesn’t care about the people who worked for her. She just cares about herself.”
“They’ll remove her from her position and she’ll cry that they picked on poor little Dede and go switch parties and claim it’s all our fault,” said Coon. “She made a decision on Sunday, and now she’s going to have to live with the consequences of that.”
Not many people feeling a lot of remorse if the Assembly leader takes the appropriate action.

But, Dede was "PIVed" long before Hoffman was Scozzafava'd.

I'm with that 8:48 guy. It's not important how much spending and borrowing we do, it's how much we get for ourselves. And Hoffman, the pipsqueak couldn't talk, hated lights, didn't live in the district, and was hated by people like you who just so desperately want things to go on as they are, ALMOST won anyway. Hey, you got your Pelosi blow up doll. Enjoy him. She will.

Spot on RW. Add to that the flip flopping Mayor. anyone who runs for office GOP wise can't trust the Pete's bar gang who get drunk and play politician.

on the merits, i think dede did the right thing by endorsing owens. but there's also no question in my mind that she should be stripped of her leadership position. effective political parties have to be able to enforce party discipline.

Boy 8:48 you hit the nail on the head, consolidation is a idea that needs to happen NOW, The idea that folks who make 25K can support all the town and villages in the area is absurd, and the elected officials keep the idea alive by the process of "member items", The crows are coming home to roost.

Anon 11/7 8:48 better check your facts on Dede vs DC. Dede hasn't done anything ON HER OWN to create jobs or anything else. Giving us a back some of our own tax $ doesn't hold a candle to creating jobs and improving MILLIONS of dollars of real estate in downtown Watertown.

11/7 12:28 IF Dede holds NON Republican values, is she actually a Republican or a RINO?

Any DEMS here - if so, pass this along the June O'Neill...

Owens and Obama Admit they Pulled a Fast one on the 2

You have to read it to believe it... plus link introduced the NYTimes story:

Owens 1st Vote Against the People of the District?

I think it stinks the way Dede has been treated. This is twice now. She should have run against Aubertine instead of Barclay. She should be in DC instead of Owens. If she wasn't shoved aside for that goofball Hoffman, she would have been. Who really gives a hoot what Sarah Palin thinks? Palin loused up any chance McCain might have had for winning the Presidential election. I have been a registered Republican for 25years, and I'm done. I'll be re-registering with the Board of Elections as not enrolled in any party.

Creating more vacant storefronts downtown with tax dollars is not progress, There are too many Dollars flowing into unneeded projects, creating more welfare hotels.

I loved the photo of Mr Owens and family with Naaancie off to the side. That woman is a freak, a Michael Jackson freak. It is kind of funny. I wonder if we'll get to see more of her, now that we have a guy who has access to her desk, so to speak.

Health care passes the House and 1 (hero) GOPer voted Yes... it passed by 2 votes 220 - 215 (all GOP voted No except one)...

39 DEMS voted No... the damn BLUE DOGS.

Rep. Scott Murphy (D-NY) voted "NO" on the health care bill ... which is precisely the opposite of what he told the voters of the 20th District (he took Gillibrand's seat when she took Clinton's Senate seat)...

From Murphy's Homepage

What a hypocrite -- and Owens followed suit - he never
mentioned public option and then voted for it - Murphy campainged on it and then voted against it.

The House final vote page is here.

GOP ready to kick Dede out - expel her - whatever it takes to punish her.

Isn't that the way the old USSR / one-party system worked... or worse - just took out "party radicals and shot them?"

It's no difference on the other side of the aisle, Look what Shelly did to Bragman, it's the system were blessed or cursed with.
