Cash For Clunkers

54% oppose the federal subsidy for the car industry known as the Taxpayer's money for clunkers program.

Chuck Schumer and Barney Frank said a few years back that everyone should own their own home, regardless of their ability to pay. Now, we have a economy that is suffering primarily because the housing market collapsed under foreclosures from subprime mortgages.

These same and company now the federal government subsidizing their new car purchases, but the public is saying enough of the social programs.

I prefer Cash for Cluckers.

We all can "get on board" for this one. there's no income guidelines, only the ability to pay, wonder if they'll be a program to help folks pay their car payment because they can't.

Excellent point, 2:24 PM! It is only inducing poor people with piece of sh*t cars to buy new cars they can ill afford.

It is a p*ss poor time for anyone with $$$$ or superior credit to try to find the car of their dreams! There is little decent inventory - plenty of Toyota Corollas and Ford Focuses and Kias - but little of anything nice, IMO, and little if any leasing (for those of us who lease) or special interest rate offers (for those of us with superior credit).

But, I've said all along, it was the people with their hands out that elected Obama, so they are the ones who are benefitting!

It's a brave new world, folks, and so far, if my new car hunting experience has been any indication, I don't like it.

Speaking of "clunkers," another case of the GOP killing and eating their own... this time, one of our own.

2 GOP Senators Hold Up McHugh final Confirmation Vote

You can't make this stuff up, folks, really you can't and then some around here wonder why the GOP is apt to wonder in the wilderness for decades ... check Kansas.

Actually Dan, who can blame them. The Kansas Senators can't get answers from the Great One about plans to bring terrorists to Kansas prisons. But you're right, our Senators would never have the balls to make such a move. One is a girl and the other takes orders from him.

The Toto thing makes no sense. You're trying too hard.

9:52 - you take me far too serious on non-serious matters.

I wager those two senators bragged about how good their prisons were when they needed or wanted more Federal money ... but now some darn reason, those same prisons can't hold any suspected or convicted terrorists?

Doesn't say much for those super-max prisons, now does it?

Fear is funny - especially in Kansas, Toto.

Dan, you're still trying too hard. This makes no sense.
