Make no mistake, our 2001 license plates are holding up just fine. The cost of the new plates is part of an effort to make up for a nearly 9 percent increase in state spending this year.
So, while we continue to hold onto the hope that New York may one day elect leaders who realize that the way to balance a budget is to cut spending, we won't be grumbling to the staff at the DMV, we'll save that for Paterson and all the lawmakers who voted in favor of his irresponsible budget.

PIV, can you please do a post about how ridiculous this Doug Hoffman guy is? He was number 9 of 9 candidates at the St. Lawrence County meeting. I mean, no one I know even considered him a contender, forget about money, he was AWFUL...he can't be a member of Congress and shouldn't be distracting from this process...

Just one more way NYS "just doesn't get it" wonder what the local reps think about it??? Wonder if the county will place a "surcharge" or "special handling fee" on this proposal on it, then "blame it on the state"?
No the county will charge extra for the county plates you know the ones. They begin with J.
