Another Day, Another Darrelism

Several posts ago P IV referred to Senator Aubertine as the "Silent Senator" and this video reinforces the tag as the "SS Aubertine" holds up voting during a slow roll call vote.

For those who may wonder; a slow roll call is a method of recording a vote that requires the physical response of a Yea or Nay, versus a fast roll which requires a Senator to sign in, then votes become automatic.

(Reform minded individuals prefer slow roll call voting.)

Briefly, on another issue being pursued, SS Aubertine recently had a dust up of some nature with an office staff member in the 2nd Floor of the Capital where the Governor's office is, the dust up required the intervention of State Police to some degree. More as details develop. This is likely tied to Aubertine's NYPA-gate.

SDS* Aubertine.

*Self-Destructing Senator

Did he fall asleep? Or doesn't he even know what's going on?

This is one more example of the kind of representation we get from Sen "One-of-us" Aubertine.

iv, what exactly do you have against darrel? did he ever do anything to you personally? i'm all for a robust and respectful debate of local and statewide political issues, but you seem to have a fanatical hatred of aubertine bordering on the pathological. why? so what if he took a whopping 25 seconds to respond to the roll call -- this is beyond trivial! do you really have nothing better to write about?

Anonymous said...

Yes, anon. The author of this blog, Scott Gray was defeated by Darrel, a Democrat, in a Republican District. Darrel took 65% of the vote. Scott is still sore about that.

Anonymous said...

Count your blessings. If you had been able to beat Darrel and went on to be Senator, then you would be the one being crapped on. You are looking sillier by the day.

At least IV has the guts to point out how foolish Darrel (and his other brother darryl?) are making SD 48 look. Talk toanyone in Albany, we're seen as foolish hay seeds with this guy who the Gov. has even publically dissed.
Not to worry though, "Hanoi June" and her downstate Dems will come to his rescue

Keep em coming Scott. Your videos and comments are great.
Too bad anon #3 and some others don't like it. Danger Democrat isn't the only political blog in town anymore.

When did Scott run against Aubertine. He ran in a primary and lost so he never faced Darryl

ELECTION 2004

State Assembly-District 118

Darrel J. Aubertine, Dem. 27298 (65.1%)
Scott A. Gray, Rep. 14616 (34.9%)

Anonymous said...

Holy crap! That is a thrashing!

Anonymous said...

That's why it's called the 'river district'. The lines were drawn and the 118th was designed for Aubertine. If Bob Cantwell should win that seat over Jenne-Russell, you can bet within two years democrat leader Silver will figure out a way to get the lines re-drawn to accommodate her or whoever they feel could win the seat back for the democrats. That's your fact for the day.

Anonymous said...

Why didn't they design it for you, Scott?

Anonymous said...

Scott claims that they designed a district just for Darrel, but yet his blog claims Darrel is stupid and ineffectual. If he is so inept, then why would they give him his own district? I've heard of excuses for losing elections, but this beats them all, Mr. Gray.

Anonymous said...

I thought it was called the river district because water flowed by it.

Anonymous said...

Boy, all the Darrel people are circling the wagons tonight. Must be IV hit a nerve.

I would say that the most accurate part of the Albany Project blog is that Darrel is not even remotely qualified for the job at NYPA.

Time to move on.

Anonymous said...

Ok, Scott, then let's talk about the county board and your screw up on the gas tax. What have you Republicans on the board decided to do?

Anonymous said...

anon 3:52:
holy inferiority complex! who cares what the folks in albany or in nyc think about north country folk? i'm proud that i grew up here and i don't give two craps about what other people think. along similar lines, i can only imagine that readers of this blog must be very upset by how bush has tarnished our country's reputation abroad.... i strongly disagree that aubertine is making sd48 look foolish; i think iv's pettiness and vindictiveness make only himself look foolish. your hanoi june smear is completely contemptible. i hope you're ashamed.

Anonymous said...

This is the typical republican smear blog. Conservatives still think the way to discuss issues is to add derogatory names to each post. They actually think that a smear gives them credence.

After just a few days of hind site, it appears that this was a strong move on Darrel's part. He demonstrated that he had the moxie to back the lying gov and his buddy Bruno into a corner. Bruno's records were seized as soon as he announced his retirement. Let's see who is indicted first, Bruno or Aubertine.

Sources: Bruno probe may move

This blog reminds me of Rush Limboughs continuous knit-picking of Clinton in the 90's. He badgered about hair cuts, how he talked, what he ate, what he wore.

It said more about Rush Limbough's character than it said about Clinton.

Anonymous said...

three cheers to that, ncl.

Anonymous said...

Yes, we get to know more about Scott Gray and the Republicans on the Board every day thanks to PIVer.

Anonymous said...

Wow, Dems sure do not like it when there is a blog out there to balance the spew of Ted Ford a.k.a. Danger Democrat.

Reality is not only a Democrat issue, so keep the heat on them IV.

Anonymous said...

I am loving this IV. Absolutely loving it. For the last couple of years Danger Democrat AKA Ted Ford has let his mouth spew through his blog and allowing others to do the same. Now, you've come along making it fair and balanced and they can't handle it.
Working in Albany and Washington DC, I left the democrat party when Clinton was in power. The democrats' loud mouth bullying one day and their whining and screaming the next was just too much. My father, a reluctant loyal democrat until he died recently, said he understood.
Look it, I'm not a huge George Bush fan, but overall I feel Republicans do a better job of at least acting like adults and trying to solve problems on a local and national level - unlike the democrats who would rather just complain.
By the way, to anon. who asked, "Why didn't they design it for you, Scott?" - I ask, do you know anything about NYS Assembly politics?? Go back and study your local government. If you don't have time, call your Assembly majority leader. Oh, and for your first lesson, he's democrat Assemblyman Sheldon Silver. Hello?!?

Anonymous said...

That would be "democratic" assemblyman to you.
You may not like George Bush very well, but you talk like him.

Anonymous said...

So, Scott, posting a 15 second holdup in the voting process is not acting like a child?

Anonymous said...

Keep up the good work IV; If you have done anything you've called a spade a spade....make all the excuses you dems want either your Gov or Darrell lied---now pick a choice....its pretty stark; one of your flagship pols is a liar....

Anonymous said...

i think anons 9:56 and 10:47 are badly missing the point that many of us are trying to make. no one is trying to silence iv or monopolize the north country blogosphere for ted ford; where do you get off projecting that kind of idea? i'm very glad to see the nc blogosphere grow -- provided, as i said above, that the debate is robust and respectful. but i think that many of iv's posts (the one we're all commenting to now being a fine example) fall well short of that standard. of course, iv has every right to post about whatever he wants; if character assassination and distraction are his aims, then that's his business. but we commenters have just as much right (well, as long as iv's comments policy doesn't change) to call him/her out when we feel he's poisoning the discourse.

to 10:47 in particular, i'm apparently younger than you, but let me say that i can't ever remember a time when democrats (at least on the national level) did any kind of bullying whatsoever -- we've been getting pushed around by the republicans for a while now, though there are some signs that might be starting to change (though, to be fair, there are signs not as well). surely this is no surprise to you, and of course i don't expect to convince anyone who's already made up their mind, but i completely disagree that republicans do a better job of acting like adults or solving problems. that's obviously how they tried to brand themselves during their long years out of power, but how well did they actually perform once they gained power? i for one think they created far many more problems than they solved. as for adult behavior, here's a shining example from the past week: the white house didn't like a ruling handed down by the epa, so they simply refused to open the email.

I have a video of Darrel picking his nose. How much is it worth, Political IV?

Anonymous said...

HAHAHAHA. You need a job. It's not like he DIDN'T vote, Scott. He took a WHOPPING 15 seconds to consider his vote. I think its better that pols think about what they are voting on. As a legislator, I would hope you felt the same.

Anonymous said...

Speaking of jobs, how many of you have one? Or, are you using work/government computers and time to write all this crap? Political IV is this something you can check on? I guess the same would go with Danger Democrat too.
PS ~ I'm retired and on my own time!! Yippeeee . . .

Anonymous said...

It is too bad Scott didn't take 15 seconds to think of the consequences of capping the County's fair share of tax revenue on a gallon of gas. It is the taxpayer's loss on that one. Nice party you have there, Scott.

Anonymous said...

Congratulations on your retirement. If you are drawing social security or medicare or medicaid, then Thank a liberal. If you are a conservative opposed to such entitlements, then, please send it back.

Anonymous said...

Great work IV. Your critics clearly don't like it when they see facts and truth thrown up in their faces. Their lies, OK. But try to add some balance or perspective and they flip out!!

Keep it up. Great discussion builds great democracy.

Anonymous said...

Far from great work, Scott. This has nothing to do with facts. It is pure resentment because you got beat badly by darrel. A 15 sec. delay and taking your time, now that is Democracy!

Anonymous said...

Alot has been said about Darrell, he is by no means perfect. This site though obviously when it comes to Darrell is biased, or jealous or whatever. The intellegent voter will weight in there own mind and then come to a voting decision.

Darrel deserves two years and if he fails in the voters will not re-elect him.

Anonymous said...

Darrel's not "taking his time." He's oblivious, scared and confused. You can see from the reaction on the dais -- and you can hear his colleagues (that's Tom Duane of Manhattan) calling him out (or waking him up).

You've gotta vote, Darrel. Take a position. Stand up and be counted -- for the people you've promised to represent!

Anonymous said...

You are imagining things. You weren't there, Scott, You were looking at a few moments of a long busy day. You, of all people should have sensitivity to what goes on during meetings on decisions. You of all people would whine and scream if someone was going for the personal attack. Better people than you have let a few things slide about your behavior.

YOU ARE A DISHONEST FAKE. IF YOU HAD PLAYED THIS VIDEO FOR 30 SECONDS LONGER, YOU WOULD HAVE SEEN THAT SENATOR BRUNO PULLED THE BILL BEFORE ANY OTHER SENATORS VOTED....BECAUSE IT CAUGHT EVERYONE BY SURPRISE WHO DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT ACTUALLY WAS. KEMP HANNON, THE HEALTH CHAIR DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT WAS...SO DIDN'T VOTE!!!!!!

HERE IS THE STORY OF HOW IT HAPPENED YOU DISHONEST FAKE!!!

OK anonymous-insider: Darrel is crippled by the fact that his name begins with "A." He could have takena dive on the vote like "Adams," but because his name is called so soon, h was scrambling to get direction from his leaders.

A sheep -- hal-asleep -- who simply does what he's told. Isn't that what also happened on the Gansevoort piers bill?
