Darrel, Do You Prefer A Boot Or Egg?

Here is Darrel's announcement of a pending deal with A. L. Lee Memorial hospital in Fulton to keep it open.

A few short days later this article appears and P IV follows up with a post here

Oswego Health ‘Blindsided’ By Senator’s Announcement
Posted by Nicole Reome on 05 Jun 2008 at 7:26 am

Today this story has come full circle with the announcement that there is NO DEAL, so Darrel do you want help wiping that egg off your face or pulling that foot out of your mouth?

Read the text of Oswego Health's announcement; click here

Darrel claims they have been working on this since he took office in February, "We've been working on this since February."

Ok, then why the delay in getting the proposal to Oswego Health as stated in their announcement?

This is a HUGE mistake for Darrel and staff to have made the claim that he put so much time into this and touting its success before it was even close to a final deal and to see it fall apart after his claims.

Darrel fails to deliver -- again!

During the campaign Aubertine said he would make saving Lee his "priority." Then he announces a deal that would keep it open. Now today's announcement!

Aubertine: I'll Make Saving Lee Hospital My Top Priority

I vote "boot." Go Dave Renzi!

Why do you want this deal to fail??? This is jobs and peoples health you're trying to exploit. you sound like those people who want to fail in Iraq!

The point is there never was a "deal," except, maybe, Darrel Aubertine's self-dealing.

It is sad that Scott would feel that losing additional health services would be considered a win for the Republicans. The article gives reasons for the failure of the the health provision and nowhere does it say it was because of Mr. Aubertine's efforts. Also, we did not hear from Mr. Barclay or any other politicians who obviously were afraid to even address the issue since it was clearly a business move intended to curb services regardless of the needs of patients. Oswego is still Republican and its residents will have to live with the Republican philosophy regarding the big business of health care.

Those of us in Schroepple who use the Health Care Services now have a longer drive and with the price of gas. And in Jefferson County they are happy because they can blame it on politics. They want us to vote for a Republican Lawyer when our own Republican lawyers did nothing to help us. I say egg on the face of Jefferson.

Here is the bottom line. P IV is not jubilant over the closing of a health care facility, actually just the contrary.

What P IV believes is that Darrel Aubertine attempted to politicize this and announce a deal and take credit for the deal BEFORE it was reached.

Look at the early post where it is said this would come back to haunt Darrel if the deal went bad.

This is similar to JCC, Senator Aubertine does not understand how to work deals. He was a good Assemblyman, but that does not require as much leadership capabilities, the Senate position may be more than he bargained for.

On Will Baracly's site he calls Fulton his beloved home.
But he did nothing and gave no answers about Lee.
Mr Aubertine at least showed up and recognized it as a problem. Does Will's firm do business for Oswego Health care?

Anonymous said...

No, the bottom line is that you neither nothing about our problem here with Lee nor what lead to it. Your only concern was that it was a boost to your ego.
Play you silly games in JeffCo and don't pretend that you care about ours.

While you are basking in your victory of the loss of Health Services in the Fulton Area, let us take joy in some good news. Kudos to both Mr. Aubertine and Mr. Barclay in their efforts to keep their noses to the grindstone as they both work for our benefit:

Where was the wonderful Senator Wright when all of this came to a head well before Senator Aubertine ever became a representative of Oswego County?

Anonymous said...

Mr. Wrong was searching out lobby jobs while he let his responsibilities slide. Then he abandon us at the most critical time when most work is done just before sessions. Any new person be it Will or Darrel did not have a chance to catch up with what is going on. I agree this health care thing here was another Wright neglect. The Jeff Repubs seemed pleased.

Also, i wonder if they want to set up other failures so political 4 which I hear is republicans from jeff legislature will look good.

You people who are defending Aubertine by diverting the attention to suggest Republicans oppose keeping a hospital open are absurd.

Aubertine used this situation for political gain in Oswego County and now it is a blow back in his face.

This is just another example of Aubertine not thinking.

At least Aubertine was in the Fight, which is a LOT more than can be said for Barclay, Wright, or any of the Jeff legislature so willing to gloat over negotiations that did not pan out.

Announcing that you are in there TRYING is no crime.

Gloating that a prime participant decided to walk away from the discussions, IS a crime. Especially when YOU had no dog in the fight!

Typical mudslinging.

I've read the news stories quoting the health department and Darrel's role in all of this. What I took from that is Aubertine got the state to set a framework for Lee's best possible deal. If Lee's asking too much now, as Oswego said in the Post Standard, then we probably won't see our services saved.

Everyone in Fulton knows Wright worked to close Lee. Keep it up IV and he'll get his way. And you know what, we know Darrel tried to fix this. You and Renzi's friends broke it.

How can our party be successful in the senate race when the Jefferson legislature uses it website to praise our failures here just to get even with Mr. Aubertine who was the only person to try. We thought of it as an honest bipartisan effort. Shame on the Jeffferson Repubs. I think your mayor will not be the only one to get bit in the butt.

I agree with the people above. If the Republican members of the Jeff Legis want to run a top secret blog to give opinions without the courage of backing them with a name, that is fine. But please stick to Jeff politics.

Senator Aubertine just declined an opportunity to double his salary with the Power Commission. Jim Wright bailed at a chance like that and stuck us. Thank you Mr. Aubertine. Jeffco's egg throwing missed Darrel and hit Jim right between the eyes!

For all of you people who are posing as Oswego residents, but perhaps more like Albany insiders, this blog is not written by Jeff Co Republican "legislators" or "legislature" or "members of the Jeff Legis"

Anonymous said...

IV how come nothing about Darrel not accepting Jimbos dream job? Can you not think of a way to spin it to cast Darrel in a negative light?
I guess there is nothing negative about finishing the job you started even if a much better offer comes around.
Do you happen to know who recommended Aubertine to the governor for the head of NYPA? BRUNO, what does that tell you?

Anonymous said...

Could it possibly be written by just a "member" of Jef Co. leg. Either way it represents what you think over there.

Anonymous said...

Guess what Anon. who thinks we are all posers.
Fulton has the internet. Yup, it's true. I even heard tell that there was this guy here once that even gets a newspaper. You boys up North should hop on yer ATV's and come see for yourself.

Albany insiders? PVI is nuts.

Anonymous said...

Fact is Will Barclay's the one who has been working to save Lee, while Darrel puts out press releases claiming the work is done.

This is an issue that will seriously come back to haunt Darrel -- every time a parent has to drive a sick kid all the way to Oswego, they'll know who to thank.

Anonymous said...

Let's have documentation or a statement from Will Barclay to prove that claim, PVI. You show them.

Anonymous said...

Are you saying that Will also failed to deliver?

Anonymous said...

"-- every time a parent has to drive a sick kid all the way to Oswego . . . "

Fulton to Oswego is allll of 11 miles. We call that prime commute in Jefferson County. We do not have a clinic in every other 4 corners, here.

Sooooo Will was no more effective, heh? Does he get the boot, too?
