Darrel was offered a great opportunity as head of NYPA. However, unlike Jim Wright he was not about to abandoned the people who supported him. His move proves that he is one of us. Thanks, Darrel.
Darrel's refusing to take the "opportunity" was a disappointment to the Republicans who thought he would jump at the chance to double his salary and open the seat for them in the fall. They forget that not all politicians are like Jim Wright who abandoned us and set up an expensive special election that lead to a stinging loss that threw the Republicans into a tizzy as they run around blaming the wrong man.
