Outrage!

Erie County Executive Chris Collins is so outraged over the NYPA rate hikes, the  $500,000 sweep of funds to balance the state budget and the staff bonuses that he has created a website for the public's assistance.

There is an online petition to sign, although it states Western NY, it is applicable to Northern NY also.

For too long, the career politicians and bureaucracy in Albany have protected the status quo and hampered Western New York economic development efforts.

NYPA's recent actions to raid economic development funds from Western New York to balance Albany's mismanagement, its proposal to raise rates and fund bonuses to state employees are no exception. Their actions are costing jobs and sabotaging our road to a bright future.

Enough is enough. Join Erie County Executive Chris Collins and sign the petition below to ask Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to investigate this unaccountable authority and stop NYPA's plan to rob Western New York of even more economic development dollars.

Senator Aubertine and others already took care of this as the Senate blocked the bonuses and increased rates and the NYPA has announced that they are holding off for a few years.

Looks like whatever happened worked.

For once.

For one year.

Who the heck would want a bonus now if they're gonna be taxed at 90%?

Nice try, Drew.

Darrel didn't do anything. In fact, he was defending NYPA and the rate hikes as recently as his press conference Monday.

Joe Griffo, George Maziarz and the GOP stepped up -- and Darrel is trying to get the credit.

I think the last few hours, with the budget deal, has taught us that it doesn't matter who our representative is. All that matters is who is in that room and who owns them.

And it ain't us.
