A Salute To Those Who Served

Let us honor the sacrifices of those who have served our country or are currently serving and for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Take a moment and pause from the day's activities and be grateful.

Politics is inconsequential today.

And let's make Memorial Day a two day affair this year.
Tomorrow, call or write John McCain's office, or other opposing Republicans and ask them to support our troops by voting AYE on the new GI Bill.

Let me very respectfully disagree with your final thought. The men and women who have died violently in uniform in service to our county did so because of our nation's political positioning. Politics on its highest level is the broad dissemination of social ideas.

TF,

Would you prefer that I add the word "bantering" ?

Would that make you feel better?

And on the lowest level political 'bantering' is just what the two of us sometimes do. OK, I agree we'll put it in the lock box for today.

A great point, today is a day to go beyond politics.

Yes, it would have been nice to remove the political argument from Memorial Day. But it will never happen. Watch here as John McCain brings his politics to a Memorial Day Service.
