BO Needs To Man Up

A British newspaper is reporting President Obama was too tired for Prime Minister Brown's visit last week.

Hey BO - man up, you wanted this job, you should have realized what comes with it. Obama seems to be giddy about all the trappings that come with being President, but behind all the pampering there is a job to do.

Barack Obama's offhand approach to Gordon Brown's Washington visit last week came about because the president was facing exhaustion over America's economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs, the Sunday Telegraph has been told.  ...

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.
and then
The real views of many in Obama administration were laid bare by a State Department official involved in planning the Brown visit, who reacted with fury when questioned by The Sunday Telegraph about why the event was so low-key.

The official dismissed any notion of the special relationship, saying: "There's nothing special about Britain. You're just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn't expect special treatment."

Much like the other side was not interested in excuses from the Bush administration or their supporters, we do not want to hear the constant whining from the Obama administration.

from the article:

In addition to passing the largest stimulus package and the largest budget in US history, Mr Obama is battling a plummeting stock market, the possible bankruptcy of General Motors, and rising unemployment. He has also begun historic efforts to achieve universal healthcare, overhaul education and begin a green energy revolution all in his first 50 days in office.

the fact is, obama and his administration are working their rear ends off. and i think they have their priorities in the right place! we're only in the midst of a full-blown economic crisis, after all.

He's not battling the stock market, he's causing it with economic plans that make no sense. And pumping more money into education without making changes is not an overhaul, my friend. To the teacher unions it is, to a citizen or to a child, not quite.

Tadpole, imagine the pressure. He knows this stimulus was bs that will do nothing for the economy. Sooner or later, even you and yours will recognize that the continuing economic mess isn't GW's fault. You might even state so, publicly. He lied about earmarks, he's done nothing to establish himself foreign policy wise, Gitmo will change, suppposedly, the wars in the middle east will end, supposedly. I would imagine the Great One isn't getting a good nights of sleep.

When the Dow hits 5000, or 3000, even folks like you will be wondering where we're going. Ahh, maybe not, maybe you'll be happy.

The real question is, as you've said before, who will get the credit/blame? Will O and Pelosi be able to win more elections with a record of this kind? I have no idea. People like this kind of stuff, print money and spend it and make the rich pay, again supposedly. When they find out it's a scam, they won't, but it will be a long time before they do. That's why the Obama stress. He's asking himself every day how smart the American people are. So far that answer has been in his and Pelosi's favor.

Time to do some boating and fishing. Now, my choice of Tadpole is not a reflection on my fishing interests. It is a sincere effort to make our jousts more soothing to your senses. It still sticks with the Frog theme, but is meant to have much less of an offensive tone to it. Hope you approve. Good day to you.

Here is 'W' first 100 days to help Republican, remember that when 'little george' and his cronies took over America. The U S had a health thriving economy with a stock market at an all time high at the time nearing the 12,000 level. Budget surplus and the U S debt cut in half. Careful review of his 100 day schedule will show that 'w' was off for 60 of the first 100 days, making the presidency a part time job while he was in charge.

are you kidding me? how about you stick with the "hermit thrush" theme? just call me "ht" -- short and sweet. why would i reply to anything else? it's just my opinion, but i do think that these little games you play undermine everything else you have to say.

How bout just, Tad? Would that be acceptable.

Aren't you making a big deal about nothing?

And what's this about a "better image" 3:39? Those were specifics I noted. Care to discuss any of them, or do you wish to just respond with a Bahawaaaaaaaa?

Are you ok with the earmarks? Do you approve of the moves O has made? Do you think our schools will be improved by more $ for the teacher unions? It's ok, you can say so. Or, you can do a childish tantrum about being poooositive.
As Rosanne Rosannadanna used to say, you sound like a real exciting guy. Or girl. If you want mindless pablum, read the Watertown Times.

nope, it's "hermit thrush" or bust. sorry, but i get to choose my name, not you. it's not negotiable. i quite agree that it's not a big deal, which makes it very strange to me that you seem unable to act like an adult and get the name right. but i also don't think it's nothing -- as i've said before, it's about respect and courtesy on the most basic level. if you want to continue with your pet names and telegraph your lack of respect and good faith, then that's totally fine! i'll just know not to waste my time responding to you on matters of substance.

bo is tired out because he's up late throwing parties at the whitehouse for his crooks and cronies on our dime. This country needs to wake up and start searching for a replacement for 2012 and do a better job vetting him or her. AND NO NOT HILLARY or PALIN!!!!!

Hermit's 3/8 12:30PM post is spot on.

The Obama team has been working at a fever pitch since coming into DC with great fanfare. I have said before that one of the things we all can do to help is show a little patience. Brown's popularity in the UK is not exactly something to brag about while our Obama is a star in Europe, as well as at home. The snub was appropriate and fitting.

I read this poll and normally don't put much credit in polls... I pick and choose the ones I like as most people do ... but this one is from a GOP-leaning source:

Who's charge here?

The poll is from Rasmussen Poll

* 68% of Republican voters say their party has no clear leader while 17% are undecided.

* 5% view either John McCain or RNC chairman Michael Steele as the party's leader.

* 2% picked Rush Limbaugh.

* 1% said Sarah Palin.

* GOP Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and GOP House Minority Leader John Boehner each registered only less than .5%.

* Democrats have no question who's in charge: 66% said Obama is the DEM Party leader.

* 10% of Democrats say the party has no clear leader.

BAD NEWS for:

* 4% said Nancy Pelosi is in charge, and

* 2% said Ted Kennedy.

My assessment for what's it worth: The GOP's problem is (as well as some DEM "leaders like Pelosi/Reid, et al) among other problems:

They put themselves and teir personal interests first.

They say they care about the country and our future and of course, our kids and grandkids, but their actions, seldom if ever lead that way.

And, when they do get a small crowd on the same sheet of music, it ends up being the same old, same old failed stale messages ... and I think people are just tired of it.

* Overall, I think the entire GOP and the DEMS in part, are kaput.

* One can be in a powerful position (i.e., elected office for decades) -- but that does not make them a leader.

hermit thrush is right. But even worse than being critical of a BO missed appointment. We have to address the perception which is gaining legs among conservatives that Mr Limbaugh represents the major faction of our party.

I am on the ropes. My friend Flipper won't respond to me in matters of substance. Actually, I never realized I had been discussing matters of substance. As the scarecrow found, maybe I had more of a brain than I realized.

Lighen up, Tad. We'll get through it. Why don't you Libs counterattack, and name me? One guy used screwball quite a bit. Tell you what, I'll go with hermit if you do one thing. Tell us how you came to choose that name. Fair enough? I always thought it derived from a children's show like Sesame Street.

i'm quite happy to explain -- though there's not really much to the story. it's just that the hermit thrush is my favorite adirondack bird. have you ever gone for a hike in the woods and noticed an ethereal, sorta pan-flute-like song? that's the hermit thrush. if you follow the link you can find a little clip of its song. to me, the adirondacks are a magical place, and the ht provides the soundtrack.

and speaking of names, you really ought to get one yourself, especially since you comment here so much!

Be careful of the anon.

Internet trolls have been known to turn into Internet stalkers. When a troll goes from being annoying to being harassing, it’s time to call in reinforcements. There are ways to stop an Internet troll when they cross that line. First and foremost, you will want to file a police report. Hopefully, that alone will scare the Internet troll into behaving. If not, a restraining order may be called for. It is possible to get a restraining order against an Internet troll, even if they live out of state.

So it's not a frog at all?

Nothing related to a frog?

I have to do some serous thinking on this.

Thanks, Birdman. I will keep my word and come up with something for you to use for me.

I think I know that bird sound you're talking about. A pan flute sound is to me, somewhat Loon like. Is that close to the sound?

I'll educate myself. Thanks

OH 8:43, as Archie used to say. Stifle yourself. Laws have to be broken before police agencies get interested in blog postings. There is no reason for you to feel afraid. Poking fun is not a threat to anyone.
Why don't you get a warm blankey, some popcorn, and read PIV only when your mother is around. Whatever you do, leave the lights on. I can see where you would find this frightening stuff, but it's just a collection of puffballs.

Anonymous said...

i guess some people might consider the ht's song sorta simliar to the loon's, but i think of them as pretty different -- though it's really all in the eye (or ear) of the beholder. and yep, i'm afraid there's just no frog connection whatsoever!
