Doug Hoffman , who put in a less than stellar performance at the Gouverneur interview session is being considered by the New York State Conservative Party.
Hoffman is a CPA and native of Saranac Lake.
According to the Daily New the Chairman of the New York State Conservative party, Mike Long said, "He was competitive for the Republican nomination because of his
business contacts in almost every county in the district, because of
his personal wealth and his capacity to raise money,"
With all respect Hoffman was a competitor by his own declaration, not sure though how competitive he was in the process.

Doug Hoffman would be a fine candidate. It is imperative during this election for us to run a strong conservative alternate choice for those who want to bring North Country Republicans back to reality. Doug will run a more professional and respected campaign unlike the Republicans who are still running a nasty attack on a man who isn't even in the race.

Doug did a aweful job in the interviews. I felt so bad for him it was embrassing. So lets see the conservatives would rather run there own candidate to split up Dede's vote and allow another Dem to take a seat. Now that makes no sense to me. Why would they?
Dede didn't have a strong showing either. Remember she has had years of experience as an assembly person.
I remember watching Mr. Hoffman and Governeur and I was not impressed with his performance either. I believe he is a smart and intelligent individual, but his performance as a speaker left much to be desired. As my memory serves, I don't believe he was a hardline conservative either. At any rate, I think the Conservative Party would be better served by looking a little deeper and a little harder to find a candidate that is both qualified and electible across the entire political spectrum. Perhaps someone who is young, fresh, and idealistic that is opposed to President Obama's imperial attitude, blind ambition, and lack of respect or apparent knowledge of how limited the federal government is suppossed to be under the Constitution. Mr. Hoffman also said in Gouverneur that he would support the Republican Party candidate no matter who it was. These actions are a complete violation of that pledge that he and all of the other candidates made. I hope he's not a committee member for his sake for that is grounds for removal from the party committee. At any rate this election should prove to be an interesting one.

Of course it make no sense to you because you are putting politics before people, that is why you selected a liberal absent of conservative ideals to represent us in Washington.
You are more interested in having the office than you are having a good conservative Republican having the office.

Well put,I and many others are tired of choosing the lesser of two evils.I was hoping a no name would rise up because the options we had a couple days ago was not worth the gas to go vote.Hopefully this guy learns to talk so we can rally the troops.VOTE ALL INCUMBENTS OUT!!!
A good conservative republican wouldnt win the seat. It isn't politics first, Dede puts people first. In case you haven't noticed outside of the south there are no conservative republicans. And if the conservatives don't start opening up to others they will become the 3rd line.

when you self-identified "conservatives" actually give up the buzzwords and settle down to a legit conservative identity, you might do better. Do you mean Goldwater conservative? Russell Kirk conservative? Buchanan conservative? Please define your position. Thank you.
No honest person can say that Doug Hoffman would represent them better in Congress than Dede Scozzafava. No one...the only people who say Doug would do better are the WAY right-wing folks who only vote on Abortion and Gay Marriage.
While, I agree those are important issues, being a member of Congress is far more about the economy and national defense than it is about social issues of abortion and gay marriage.
This coming from a pro-life, traditional marriage Republican who will be voting for Dede whenever the election takes place. We are out there.
Don't know the man which is why he is perfect.Hopefully not corrupted yet.Has my vote and a donation when he's up and running.
