Two Gavels - One Session

Bizarre is the only way to describe Albany these days.

Just when you think things cannot get any worse, the loose wires in the New York Senate have touched each other and they are shorting out.

I'm just glad to see that, after three weeks, Darrel Aubertine has finally decided to show up for work!

If ever there were a reason to hold a State-wide Constitutional Convention for the sole purpose of adding ONE element:

Recall of Elected Officials Provision, that time would be now.

Sen. Darrel had to go back... in good faith to justify his paycheck...

In my old Marine Corps days we used to say that someone ashamed of their duties had to "... back up to the pay table to receive their check" (that was before direct deposit, FYI) ...

NYS Senate agrees on their pay, but on nothing else

See what I mean?

There is a link to a NY times photo of the session. In one of the photos Darrel is seen sitting in the back. He actually looks dignified!

I can't help but wonder what he is thinking when he looks at all the Bozo's in front of him.

Darrel do the right thing. Show up at a session and do what you think is right, not what your party tells you. YOU COULD END THIS WHOLE THING Show some leadership for once.

Speaking of "getting worse" for the "Grand Old Party..." SC GOP:

Gov. Sanford admits affair, apologizes to family

You can't make this stuff up folks, really.

The Family Values Party (and moral conscience of the NYSenate) is pleased to report that SC Guv Sanford has taken a lover in Argentina and has not been able to devotedly fulfill the obligations to his constituents that he was presumably elected to address. He has not yet admitted to siring a child out of wedlock though, an occasional occurrence among Rep guvs' families. Someone has to put a stop to this generalized moral turpitude.

Constitutional Convention Or the Assembly filing Articles of Impeachment.

A Constitutional Convention is not a limited alternative.

The Convention would have the capacity of changing our entire NYS Constitution.

We live in a Republic.

Iran is an Islamic Republic.

Will a new Constitutional Convention change and radicalize our present rights in New York State?

Let's say a group of delegates vote a "Blackboard" as a "Greenboard".

That would not be factually true, but it would be the Law.

A Constitutional Convention is a last resort.

I believe the Governor has arrest authority regarding these sessions. Is that a possibility.

Articles of Impeachment by the Assembly would be part of the process outlined in New York State's Constitution.

That would be the next logical step under our Constitution. It was done in the early 20th Century, why not now?

If our Assembly does not have the courage to Impeach, then proceed to a Constitutional Convention.

But, that Convention would change much more than the NYS Senate Circus.

Special Interests will finance their prospective delegates running.

That type of election financing will make the Aubertine-Barclay Special Election look like small potatoes!

Democracy in action or Democracy Inaction. Two words or three words?

Earth to Bob:

You know of course, that we could have/hold a state constitutional convention and NOT change the constitution, right?

Where did you study civics - oh, that's right in Tehran ... that other "republic" you mentioned.

Hey, how 'bout that Sen Parker calling his Democrat Gov a "coke snortin staff bangin" dude. Now I kind of like the sound of that. That's the way they should be talkin' to each other. Like men. Here's to you, Sen Parker.

We all know that with very few exceptions, this is what thay are. But when a donkey is calling a donkey names things have gotten confusing. I'm surprised the unbiased media reported it.
