Odds and Ends

Addie Jenne Russell withdraws her name from consideration in the 23rd Congressional race (Newzjunky), did anyone really take her candidacy serious anyway?

Meanwhile, the Democrats are still tripping over themselves in an attempt to look organized, yet, they have not even arrived at a selection process to date. (Watertown Daily Times). The special election will be over and Sean Hennessey will still be appealing to the media that he has a process under control .
"...11 Democratic county chairmen meeting to discuss a candidate selection process. No details were released following the 90-minute meeting."
Also, Andrew Bisselle is having a weak mental moment thinking the Democrats will actually consider him as a registered Republican to run on the Democratic line for the special election.

The coup in the State Senate is paying dividends for some of the birds there. Steve Pigeon (Albany Times Union) has been hired as counsel for Aubertine's buddy and boss Pedro Espada to the tune of $150,253 making him the 8th highest paid staffer. And Aubertine's friend, Pedro Espada, is also getting new and larger digs at the capital which comes with all the power that was bestowed upon him by Aubertine, et al.

The Mayor used campaign funds to attend Sarah Palin's fundraiser for the Seward Museum in Auburn. (Watertown Daily Times). One might say his fascination with Palin is a bit over the top. Here is a picture forwarded to PIV of a card board cutout of Palin in the Mayor's bar. Ahhh enthusiasm is a good thing I guess.

Brian McGrath candidate for the Democratic line for the 23rd Congressional Race is said to have ads on You Tube. Stay tune for more details and the ad.

And two might say that your hatred for Senator Darrel Aubertine is a bit over the top.

LL,

Wrong!

I have never made a remark about Aubertine as a person, he is a nice person. It is politics and policies that we disagree on.

He is a shrewd politician yet attempts to give people another impression such as being a victim.

About the Palin trip...I like her values and ideology, even though I know she's got a ways to go to be President.
What struck me at this nearby event is that I didn't see any of the North Country RINO's......Must be they were afraid she would mistake them for a moose.

well ajr does have more name recognition than other candidates. Why wouldn't people take her seriously?

Speculation about who is going to run for President before the midterm elections is an art that really kills time with style....

Dems meeting August 10 in Blue Mountain Lake (Minnowbrook Conference Center) - all day and night session - decision expected that evening.

11 to be interviewed - two sessions -

No problems ... democracy still at work despite the hype otherwise flung by the other side to paint a different picture.

~ Carry on.

I agree, Palin would probably do something and damaging to the country like shoving a $800 Billion stimulus bill down out throats.

I don't know, 4:27. Is that meeting open to the public. Is it going to be filmed, live? Will the room be bugged? If not, it doesn't really represent an open process, now does it?

I just want the process to be fair. All Americans, and illegals as well, have every right to be part of the process, do they not? And what of a candidate chosen by such a faulty process? I, for one, am ready to stand up for a process that is meaningful for all.

The DEM process will as open as the GOP process was.

~ scurry on.

The only way you can change the process is by taking part. Become active and get on a committee. Help construct by-laws and rules for situations such as special elections. Since it has not been done to date, you can't blame any party for not having a process unless you are going to part of the solution for the future. Until then, oh well...they, both parties, are doing more than they have too. Yes?

I don't know as yet whether the elephant process will be a open as the donkey process. Many of us will be watching with great stress upon selection process, and whether it fills the needs of the Great American Peeeple. The final process must be something we can all be proud of, and it must not contribute to the continuing scourge of global warming. If it were found to be damaging to our fragile planet, or cost the jobs of any silver spooned, connected youth in our community, then a new process would have to be developed immediately.

Thanks AJR for the extension to the sales tax, just what Govt. needs, more money.

7:34 PM a.k.a. Dan Francis

The process is not as open as the elephants process. They had 4 regional meetings and opened them up to their entire committee versus the donkey deal of 1 meeting tucked away in Blue Mountain Lake with just committee chairs.

so pal - you scurry on now!

In terms of time spent by both political parties to select their Congressional candidates, both remain closed to the public.

(See, my anonymous friend, I did not use the word PROCESS.....oops!)

Thanks EB. I'm headed for the weekend and I process nothing on weekends?

No reason to waste time or money on a seat that will disappear after the next redistricting.

Joe Bruno used his "leftovers" to pay his legal bills. Maybe he"ll take a trip, (A one way one).

Maybe AJR should run for it then.

A 6:22 - ding ... wrong answer - that Anonymous you refer to as Dan Francis is not Dan Francis -

Dan never posts anonymously ... Why should he?

No AJR is pretty much out of commission as a assembly person.
