The Mayor takes Drew and Senator Aubertine to the woodshed with a good scolding for putting a political press release out from the Senator's government office versus a campaign office.
The press release featured on Newzjunky was out of bounds, see it here.

Odd, Jeff Graham does not mind making these and many other political comments on "MAYOR Graham's View", his Blog. He also is not embarrassed to mix personal and private comments with public and political insider tidbits from his several venues.
Watertown's King of ALL Media is not afraid to blur his own boundaries: he is in no possition to lecture anyone else. Graham talks from both sides of his face.
Well he is a politician.
The nerve of him, criticizing a donkey. You guys are right to respond accordingly. Attack the messenger, not the message.
Vote Demo. No sense in thinking about it now.
TF rebutted Graham and said the "media release" (clearly a media release unless Newzjunky botched it up when they published it, if so, we need to know that, too) was a personal view and sent via Email and NOT an official Senator's "media release."
Drew Mangione, Comm Dir for Sen. Aubertine, and his "Media Release" - judge for yourself
Not a big issue unless the facts point to an "official media/Senator Media Release."
So, is it or not? Maybe only Newzjunky knows...

Instead of worrying about whether Aubertine uses his office to promote himself (he does, all do) Graham should worry more about lots that sell to people who offer less money than others. Since the stinky Coleman deal for that street, we've now done it again with the Friendly's deal. It should go to the highest bidder. And NOW, Mayor Graham, we have a deal where public money was used to build a deck on privately owned property. This is yet another stinky deal, in my opinion. It sure helps to know someone if you live in the City of Watertown.
Good grief you have a blog here written by a guy who has inside information about our county uses it to his advantage anonymously and you worry about what kind of paper a rebuttal is made on.
It's not as simple as what kind of paper one is using. Hopefully, you understand that, 6:33.
All this money spent on education and no understanding of the use of puctuation.
Your mayor is not in any position to scold anyone. Since when do we give our land away and build decks for businesses. This city administration needs to be investigated. This guy will roll over for a beer.
7:30 is right. Watertown City admin has a lot of explaining to do. Who authorized grant money to be used to build private project? Was this decision made by the Manager, that downtown advisor that hides in City Hall, or just a give back to someone owed by the Council? I think they have pulled this kind of bs one too many times.
Graham has become one of the good old boys.
"All this money spent on education and no understanding of the use of puctuation."
Now that you have mastered punctuation, perhaps you can now try for spelling.
BaaaaaaaWHAhahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaha
That's just Mayor's Graham's view...from his new deck!
BaaaaaaaWHAhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha
The Mayor should get the first whooping!!
The Mayor is trying to slime out of all this deck scandal with a post he wrote to the effect that the deck will or has attracted a new business. Bullsh*t. It is not the purpose of the City to use public funds to build projects on speculation. Is the City trying to do DANC job, now? That money was meant for a public project and public use and not for a beer drinking platform for a bar. If the business buys it, then the public is screwed out of the benefits of the funds. Shame! TeaBag the mayor. The city guys screwed up and who ever authorized it should resign or be fired.
I agree with those who say the deck shouldn't have been built on a private building.....I should have reviewed the plans in more detail last fall....I thought it was just a river access and trail project. According to the contractor the plans called for it and frankly the Council and I missed it.
Understood. But whoever proposed this project should be fired. There is no way that this could have been a misunderstanding. The fact that you and the council "missed" this when reviewing the proposal is understandable. Mistakes get made. And I respect your post. But whoever proposed this knew what was going on. Where did this proposal come from? From what office/individual? They should be gone.
Hey PIV. A mayoral misunderstanding. How does that compare with an Aubertine misunderstanding?
BaaaaaaWHAhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
LL,
Have no idea what you are referring to with that comment. I never said anything about a "mayoral misunderstanding"
Thanks for the visits.
PIV- I believe J Graham at 10:45 indicated that a misunderstanding occurred. although the exact wording is different. I believe I am not putting words in his mouth.
Jeff Graham said he thought it was just access and a trail project. and not a deck for the purpose of enhancing a private investor. That would be a misunderstanding.
Now the Watertown Times is protecting the Mayor and his deck by giving him advanced information about the personal business of K. Fear.
"He also is not embarrassed to mix personal and private comments with public and political insider tidbits from his several venues. "
Anon #1 was right on all issues.
The king of All media is too stupid to keep his mouth shut. He should not have told on the publisher.
Apologize? He should resign!!!
I think whoever proposed this project should be fired. This individual had to know this project was illegal. There is no way to defend it. "Missing" it, as the Mayor claims, is somewhat understandable but the person who put this plan in operation should be fired. There has to be SOME accountability for using taxpayer's money on private projects. Or have we come to a point where it doesn't matter? We will know how connected this person is by how carefully our local media avoids the story. So far, he or she must be pretty important.
How can we put drug users in jails when connected people steal public funds and get away with it? This system stinks.
Graham and Smith were featured on TV news tonight, spewing a story of support for Friendlys. Smith noted how nice and trustworthy they were. Doesn't he understand? He has NO BUSINESS deciding what company is better than another. As a representative of taxpayers, he should get the most out of the property he can. THAT is the best way to look out for our interests. The fact that he likes or dislikes one business over another means nothing. Sell the property for the most we can get for it. Otherwise, Mr Smith, this situation has all the appearance of backroom shady dealings. I'm not interested in what companies you favor. I want you out of the process altogether.
In fact, Mr Smith, I'd be happy if you would just learn to park in the City Hall parking lot like everyone else, and not in the restricted police parking in front of the building. Please try to remember that. As a councilman you are not entitled to park in "police only" areas.
