Great Commercial

Congratulations Mr. Renzi your first TV production out of the gate and it gets a solid 5 star rating.

It is a great commercial.

They forgot the part where he is a lawyer and screws people for a living.

I agree its a well done spot and a nice introduction of a guy we all knew was a good guy before he ran.
Now after the fluffy intro lets talk about issues.

David.....very good honest 1st commercial......he is a good man with integrity and will look out for the common folk.....vjb

. . . that must be Spitzer you're thinking of!

Looks like an Ad that was featured a few years ago for his opponent when He ran for Assenbly not that orignal. sorry

The opening video is shot at too high an elevation looking down at him and not flattering to his face and not emphasizing his height. The family video outdoors is much better and more flattering. He has a nice speaking voice but I had to play the commercial twice to understand he said humming economy. Kind of a generic message but I don’t know what else he could run on except being a fiscal conservative. I don’t know if the voters would go for that and I don’t know if he is one.

Great Ad Dave, I know you would make a great State Senator, I made a wrong decision on my votes in the past and I will not let that happen again. I know you are the peron we need. A person there for everyone not just a portion of us. Dave Renzi for State Senator and I approve of this message!!!

Hey TF. Issues like DA screwing up the YMCA legislation?

His NYPA job

Shall I continue?

"Together we can stand up for change"

YES! RENZI! THANK YOU FOR BUCKING THE BRUNO-SKELOS LEADERSHIP AND PROMISING TO THE PEOPLE OF THE NORTH COUNTRY THAT YOU.....A NEW POLITICIAN.....WILL NOT VOTE FOR DEAN SKELOS TO LEAD YOUR PARTY AGAIN IN THE SENATE!!!!!!!

You have MY vote!!!!!

The company this video was done in, is Virginia.

How is the candidate of the stagnant Republican Majority and a strengthening of Skelos the party of change?

Anonymous said...

sure, it's a nice and warm and fuzzy, but haven't we all seen ads just like this a million times before? really, 5 stars? kudos to iv for getting rid of that "independent voice" malarkey in the masthead, but you didn't go far enough. isn't "in the tank for republicans" (or at the very least, for renzi) a bit more accurate? danger democrat is entirely forthcoming about his partisan leanings (they're even built into his name!) -- why aren't you?

tf wants issues, what issues did Aubertine discuss last time. All he did was keep saying he is one of us - in a successful attempt at pointing out Barclay was born rich and we should hate him for that.

An Uncommon Thing said...

Aubertine IS one of us! None of us know how to get a bill out of committee (not once but twice)..... none of us know how to shepard a constituent through the complex NYS government in order to get what they need.....(make sure the community college has their ducks in a row).....none of us knew that it was illegal to hire a relative for a state senate position......Just to name a few of the instances where DA is just like us! That should be his motto- "none of us".

This is a great intro piece and, like TF sez, a competent intro to the larger community that doesn't yet know Dave Renzi.

By all means, let's soon get to the issues, too! The critics in this post don't seem to be too concerned about that, though. All I see is lots of character attacks on Renzi, other posters, etc. Let's all just grow up!

fine commercial. On one hand we have someone who is actually capable of doing the work. On the other we have someone who cannot function within the system and has spent the last few months proving it. The political moves against aubertine are real and you can hate the game, but the player better be equipped to play and Mr. Aubertine will never be. Every week that man makes a mistake that costs us millions. Ok, it's probably more like hundreds of thousands but you get the point.

Wow - one TV and the GOP-oriented voters start lining up at the polls already!

Now that's loyalty, blind loyalty, but loyalty nonetheless...

Anonymous said...

hey Dan,
your boy can't do the job. blind loyalty is sticking with this guy even though he will take us all down the tubes. the commercial is irrelevant. Why am I the only democrat who can see this? why would any reasonable person stick with a fool when there is a better option. This man is not Mr. Schell or someone else wholly capable. I would rather have that moron pastor LaIdiot than Aubertine.

Is this the commercial that was done by a Virgina-based company?

It clearly seems to be a rip off of Darrel's commercials. Not very original.

Anonymous said...

"Anonymous 9:54" - I tend to think most voters put a little more thought into their votes than you do. Darrel has been in office for FOUR MONTHS. Let's see his record after 4 months compared with Jim Wright's after FOUR MONTHS, and I suspect they aren't that different. If you think partisan harping will help the Republicans, I think history has proven you wrong.

A cetain Anon: "My boy?" Do tell ... pray tell, who is "My boy?"

I'm not anyone's boy (JeffCo. DEMS didn't even help me circulate one single petition for congress - and I don't know why).

And no one is "My boy," either (which probably explains why JeffCo. DEMS didn't help me?)...

Catch-22, more likely. But, hey, that's me. I'm my "own boy."

Can you believe the damage done in FOUR MONTHS!!!! Amazing how much he has screwed up in FOUR MONTHS!! The JCC thing is an absolute lie. none(zero, zip) of the other applicants had their plans "fully completed." These things are static until the actual funding amount comes through. I'll give you a little insider info, his office forgot to call the people at JCC as the long form deadline approached, then passed. I was told they(JCC) were sitting on their hands waiting for a call back while making numerous calls into his office, but nobody knew what was going on. Then have to be helped off the floor as something they have been working on for over a year is just lost due to horrendous incompetence. The sister thing, his incredible corruption with the wind mills which, by the way, i hear will be looked at by Cuomo. (voting for public policy while standing to make money from that policy is the very definition of corruption) One other thing, the 2 people who wrote scathing pieces last week about the smart planning decisions made by the Lyme council regarding windmills are huge property owners who stand to make vast sums of money having the turbines on their property. Aubertine himself in excess of $100,000/year. Their opinion is therefore WORTHLESS!!!! Nowhere in either of their little hack stories do either have to guts to mention this as people would obviously feel different about the content of the piece. I didn't even have to mention his other failures. They just roll off the tongue. I will in fairness not even mention them as I am a benevolent anonymous commenter. YOUR BOY IS DARRYL AUBERTINE. Your prayers are answered! you cannot be your "own boy" if you cannot think for yourself. Aubertine licks his chops at people like you. Last thing, you have to be a real douchebag to attach a name to this crap. And a picture!! Holy crap! I just attached your picture to my profile so people will think you are really smart after reading my postings. No need to say thank you.

Anonymous said...

I would be interested to know your source who told you Aubertine is in line to make in excess of 100k a year due to windmills. Last I checked and i did check based upon the current projections and his property lines he will get 1-2 turbines on his property. I can assure 1 or 2 windmills equal nowhere near 100k a year my friend.
Also, so now it is the senators job to make sure college boards and presidents get their budget applications done in a timely manner? Wow i thought that was the colleges job, huh. Keep grabbing for straws.

Anonymous said...

Oh yes lets keep blaming JCC on Darrel. When did he become their President?

Anonymous said...

We can blame Darryl because he doesn't tell us what is going on. He stands behind Drew, when Drew starts throwing the blame. It is always someone's elses fault with Darryl.

It may be the case but I don't want a senator who can't stand up and fight for himself.

JJ

Anonymous said...

JJ, you've picked up on a trend. Darrel screws up -- Drew jumps to the defense. When do we get to hear for our elected Senator about all the flubs, dropped balls, etc., from JCC to YMCA to trying to hire his own sister!

Anonymous said...

JJ,
excellent point.

Lets just say that poor aubertine only gets to have 2 turbines on his property. Does that change at all the fact that he is an elected official voting on something that will benefit him financially. 2 turbines=12K/year. Funny how the guy used the unacceptable(to the property owners) current guidelines. Under their plan Aubertine could have 20. 20 x 6K = 120K/year. You should check my math to make sure that figure is correct. AUBERTINE WAS THE LIAISON FOR THE JCC FUNDING. ALL HE NEEDED TO DO WAS TELL THEM WHEN AND WHERE TO TAKE THEIR PROPOSAL. IT WAS READY TO GO. THATS THE LIE. Even pathetic Aubertine supporters(and there are many at JCC) say he unequivocally dropped the ball. This is going to happen over and over again. You people who continue to support him are like repubs still standing with George Bush. HOW COULD YOU BE SO STUPID? If he didn't know that Covidian was going to make this move he should resign. I'm not saying it's his fault, but they need to be ready to make incentive(tax, land trust, whatever) proposals to keep them here. Sen.Wright would have known this was happening and at least made an effort to keep the jobs. maybe not being successful in the outcome, but still an effort. the article even says the workers knew changes were going to be made. What is Aubertine going to screw up next? I'm on the edge of my seat just waiting for his next folly. tell his staff no more drinking at their desks on fridays.

Danny M. Francis (Eyepublius) said...

Speaking of wind turbines: drive to Lowville and witness them all over West Lowville, or up towards Malone to Saranac Lake towards Plattsburgh - tons of them and they are all producing while we complain.

It's so typical of folks around here - bitch and moan about "being left out," yet never wanting to catch up as they reach for Albany hand outs and call it "good government" or worse: "Getting our share ..." at the same time, trying to keep government out ...

Catch-22 - North Country style.

Anyone who is not a native from here, but who has been here longer than a month can see it.

The problem: no one will admit it.

don't blame any senator for jobs leaving the area blame every american that doesn,t look for "MADE IN AMERICA" label NYS job specifications use to require that products used on state funded projects had to be made in NYS and if not produced in NYS made in America.that has all disappeared.it,s the old trip over a dollar to pick up a dime.buy foreign products and watch your jobs and revenue leave the country.this country is almost back to the two class system"the rich and working poor"
