Obama's "new kind of politics" include deploying an army of lawyers to Alaska in an attempt to figure out how to attack Palin.

"It's no surprise, then, that Democrats have airdropped a mini-army of 30 lawyers, investigators and opposition researchers into Anchorage, the state capital Juneau and Mrs. Palin's hometown of Wasilla to dig into her record and background. My sources report the first wave arrived in Anchorage less than 24 hours after John McCain selected her on August 29."Sarah Palin has put the Republicans in a favorable spotlight with white woman according to polls. One poll, the Washington Post / ABC News poll showed Obama with a post convention lead among this group by 8% only to lose it to the McCain / Palin ticket one week later by 12% margin. The 20% swing in a group that has traditionally favored Democratic candidates is cause of concern for Democrats.
Sorry Barack, looks like Hillary would have helped you instead of that old male stereotypical curmudgeon politician Biden who is not even being mentioned in the media.

It's too bad Obama has to spend so much time on Palin. It's likely a wasted effort. Republicans don't really care if their candidates lie to the other party or even to their own party. All that matters is that they win. That is what passes for democracy in the USA today.
doesn't this just fit the republican theme of the week: the story itself doesn't appear to be true. the democratic national committee's chief researcher says says the dnc sent no one to alaska. and the chair of the alaska democratic party says he knows nothing about democratic researchers or lawyers being sent either. now, maybe there's something going on way under the radar, or maybe these guys aren't being truthful. or maybe this is yet another lie coming from the republicans. i'm sure we can all rely on iv to set the record straight once the dust settles, right?
and for what it's worth, i'm with david kurtz: why wouldn't the dems send a team to alaska? maybe it gives iv the vapors, but researching your opponent is completely standard operating procedure.
