Politics Before Policy To Addie Jenne?

Addie Jenne Russell, candidate for the 118th Assembly, voted against a resolution urging the federal government to take action to encourage energy exploration, production, diversification, and research to strengthen energy independence

The resolution passed on Tuesday by the Jefferson County Legislature is supportive of HR 6566 and encourages off shore oil and natural gas exploration, development of ANWR and tax credits for development of alternative sources such as wind, solar, and hydrogen and tax credits for improved energy efficiency for families and businesses.

Not sure what she is expecting for future energy independence and if her vote against this is because this was sponsored by Republicans locally and HR 6566 is supported by Republicans in Congress and as a candidate she can't be seen agreeing with them.

Is she concerned about people struggling with energy prices or just politics?

i think there's a good chance you've got it exactly backwards, iv. i think politics would dictate that in a rural, northerly, republican-majority county, it's much safer to support drilling and other forms of energy exploration, quite aside from any national party considerations. but as a matter of policy, more drilling runs large risks of greatly damaging the environment and further encouraging our dependence on fossil fuels.

60 days to go, and it seems like we are just getting started!

The first Renzi-Aubertine Forum is tonight.

The 48th NYS Senate Forum will be webcasted live by WWW.SteveWeedProductions.Com.

They are broadcasted in a C-Span like manner.

Wow! A political event without Brent or Wolf talking through it!

Sure beats being hit over the head with those downstate funded ads sponsored by both Albany headquartered parties.
