Patriotism = Pay More In Taxes

If you view the world from the left, it seems this is what everyone thinks; paying more in taxes is patriotic.

New York Senate Democrats,
New York Assembly Democrats,
Working Families Party,
and now Joe Biden.

"I venture to suggest that patriotism is not a short and frenzied outburst of emotion but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime."
— Adlai E. Stevenson, American statesman (1900-1965).

It was, indeed, another gem from our friend, Joe the Gaffer.

lol--His heart was in the right place, don't be too hard on him.

He's right. The rich won't step up on their own. He's saying they must get in the game and do their fair share to preserve the American economy. What is NOT patriotic is to penalize the middle class for the sins of the failed economic policies that have favored upper income individuals.

By the way, no one in this area has to worry because no one up here is in that income bracket. North country citizens should embrace this policy because we stand to benefit from this redistribution more than other regions.

Joe was temporarily confused about what patriotism is:

Patriotism is sending someone else's children to a war that secures the financial future of big oil.

Patriotism is displaying "support the troops car magnets" MADE IN CHINA.

Patriotism is the recognition of Republican war heros and the chastising of liberal and gay war heros.

Patriotism is a businessman who makes big money but pays no taxes.

Paying taxes, Joe, is not patriotism. Paying taxes is for poor people.

So rebuilding the infrastructure of the USA is not patriotic? Becoming energy independent is not patriotic?

pcs..you just don't get it! Building the infrastructure of Iraq is patriotic! Allowing our local electricity to be controlled by British National Grid is patriotic! Allowing a Spanish company to build windmills here is patriotic. Tsk! Tsk!

If paying taxes is for poor people why do poor people pay no taxes. It is the middle class and rich who support the poor people. They have paid for their free rent, free food, free medical, free education etc. If they want more have them work!!!

It is my money and I am tired of paying my money to the government.

Even with the high taxes we pay it is the rich that donate do charities and support those in need. It certainly not Obama who has an extremely weak record of giving.
