Kudos Dede

Dede Scozzafava a stalwart legislator from Northern New York was appointed Assembly Minority Leader Pro Tempore.

Dede is a very good legislator and earns respect for her independence, that attribute scores her a top grade for doing her job. We need more people like her in the state legislature, not some of spineless jellyfish that we have currently. Someone who will speak their minds and cut away from the party when they feel necessary to stand on principles.

Go Get'em Dede

Now with this appointment and pay raise will she consider running for senate in the 48th?

She should have been the Senator in the 48th last year if she didn't get pushed out by outsiders.

Keep up the good work Dede.

Articulate, passionate, well-informed and willing to stand up to the Albany big shots.

She's no Darrel, that's fer sure!

I don't always agree with Ms. Scozzafava's positions, but I have always admired her for her hard work and dedication.

I need help deciding who to vote for, so i have
(1) 2 part question for dede and darrel. here goes:

1) Can you tell me why 16 year old William Humphries who tried to rob the state st. mcdonalds is getting a
3 1/2 year sentence while Justin Meashaw of Gouverneur robbed the stewarts shop there by gunpoint and is only getting 6 months in county jail?

2) Why is Mr. Meashaw, an adult, being punished far less than his adolescent counterpart, Mr. Humphries? Something stinks here.

i heartily second anon 12:03. i find dede's stand on gay marriage especially laudatory. why isn't darrel on the side of equality and liberty too? (well, ok: at least as a political matter, he doesn't want to create a big opening for a challenge from the right, but still.) why won't he even talk to the press about it?

Good question. However, your question should be directed at the people of SLC who elected the current DA. If everything is plea-bargained, she is less likely to show her incompetence in the courtroom. But, not to worry, she'll be re-elected by the same fools.

Super job, Dede! Keep up the good work.

DeDe vs. Darrel would be quite the race and another good boost for local media....
Is her new Assembly job a prelude to running....or with the lulu just a prelude to retirement....
Why should she bail out the GOP poobahs who flipped her the bird in favor of the Barclay lad ?
The reason is of course blind ambition and I am not sure she is the type......

Darrel lacks brains but is a nice guy. (Hmmm... doesn't that sound like the Democrat's complaints about Bob Nortz?)
Dede has the brains AND a super personality to beat.

I wonder how much tax-payer money was funneled into the WISE BUYS stores, it seems to me someone should look at this. Certainly doesn't hurt having a sister with connections.

Position well disserved, Dede is very hard working and is tuned in to the issues of the North Country. She speaks out and stands up for her beliefs because she is her own persons representing Northern New York. Darrel, you better check with Silver and Smith to find out what your opinion is. We see the how the farmers did! DEDE YOU GOT MY VOTE for 48th SENATE DISTRICT.
Thank you,

Why is he getting less time? Because we do not take anything to trial in SLC. Keeping voting for the incompetent, she has a nice smile.
