Right On Dave

Dave Males, General Manager of Newswatch TV 50, nails this editorial. He finishes by asking people to remember at election time which is 2 years from now who voted in favor of this disastrous budget.

Ditto on those remarks Dave!

WWTI needs money and viewers.

FOX 24 Hour News is number one in the 'Red State Market' and other rural areas.
Watertown is near rural areas with a history of radical 'wingnutism'.

Follow the lead of FOX and become a (sic) "Fair and Balanced" news station.
I hope Rupert Murdock's lawyers sue them for copyright infringement.

There is no 'surcharge' on small businesses! Total distortion of the Progressive Income Tax.

If any small business owner has an adjusted income (after COGS, other expenses, personal draws, etc.) of more than $250,000, they should get a new accountant.

The PIT does NOT affect small businesses. I don't know why you spin this as if it does. The Watertown Chamber is guilty of this too.

I'll bet you next year when taxes are due, that maybe 50 people in the North Country will be in the larger tax bracket. And frankly, if you have a salary of over $250,000, you are doing a heck of a lot better than someone making $40,000 and should pay a mere 1% more in income tax.

By the way, in case anyone is paying attention, no one is going to leave NY for greener pastures because most other areas of the country are affected by the bad economy and are having to take measures as well.

Frankly, if our communities had to cut any more programs, it would have a much more devastating impact and leave our area much less desirable. I'd be willing to bet that people choose to live and work in places that have sound and comprehensive social programs rather than to merely evaluate a community on cost.

Let's keep this fiscal crisis in perspective. Its bad and additional dollars need to come from every sector. The PIT is just and fair and again, won't hurt small businesses.

Power [or Freedom] of the Press: "Belongs to those who own one." — AJ Liebling

(Abbott Joseph Liebling (October 18, 1904 – December 28, 1963) was an American journalist who was closely associated with The New Yorker from 1935 until his death in 1963.

And that ain't most of us citizens, folks ... remember that on election day, too.

6:19 and 7:49. You guys are right. There is no problem with this budget. Spend, spend, spend. Tax the rich. Hell, tax anybody, as long as it isn't me. You're right. Anyone who doesn't agree is a wingnut.

9% increase in spending.

If the world runs out of fools, at least you two will represent us till the very end.
