New York State's Fiscal Mess - Reason #2
New York State's revenue has tumbled and due to a budget that is so highly leveraged there is no ability to withstand such a downturn. New York State government is not positioned to fall back on any reserves to gain some time for proper decision making, it takes emergency sessions that produce radical cuts.

Shelly says to wait and see. He says there is no evidence that this is a lasting emergency, that there is no reason to cut spending at this time.
All is well. Sit back. Relax. Don't look your kid in the eye, because sure as hell you are screwing the next generation. But go for it. Justify your raise, your time off, your low co-pays, your free health insurance.
Gov't and school jobs pay.
Especially now that the Dems own it all. Buy your kids some condoms. It's the least you can do.
