Gallup is saying it is official, no bounce from the Biden announcement.

actually, a 6-point bounce is already fairly decent: have a look here. it seems to be somewhat uncommon to get more than a 10-point bounce. and it's also worth noting that the size of the bounce isn't a great predictor of the election's ultimate outcome.

That is true and that would be considered a very "modest" bump from the convention. He better hope for a lot better than 6 points.
