Senator Aubertine succumbs to the pressure and voted in favor of the tax cap plan proposed by the Governor and supported by the Republican majority. He voted in favor of it after a disastrous hostile circuit breaker amendment, that he supported, failed.

Tax Cap Passes, 38-20
Gov. David Paterson's tax cap bill has passed the Senate, 38-20.
It's not really a surprise, given that all the GOP members are present, with one empty seat that belonged to ex-Sen. Joe Bruno, and they all voted in the affirmative (as they say here in the chamber).
The Democrats are down three members. A number of those who are here joined with the Republicans in voting "yes," including Senate Minority Leader Malcolm Smith and Deputy Senate Minority Leader Jeff Klein, not to mention two of the upstaters (Aubertine and Valesky) and the lone Long Islander, Craig Johnson.
The "no" votes were all Democrats. They were:
Adams, Breslin, Connor, Diaz, Dilan, Duane, Gonzalez, Hassell-Thompson, Huntley, L. Krueger, Montgomery, Onorato, Parker, Perkins, Sampson, Savino, Serrano, Stavisky, Stewart-Cousins and Thompson.

This is one of those "Damned if he did and damned if he didn't" situations.
If Aubertine pulled an old lady from in front of a runaway truck you'd say he bruised her arm.
Hey, I have a crazy idea! Let's change the name of this blog to "Darrel Aubertine is a big ol' meany because he took away our seat in the senate! WAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Give him a chance to help take care of the mess the Republicans have made! Honestly, is the sole purpose of this blog to pick him apart, becuase it certainly does ONLY that! In my very humble opinion, this the blog equivalent of the National Enquirer: a rag.
I don't think that is fair ... to the the National Inquirer. This blog is run by someone Darrel beat for the Assembly a few years back, and it is clearly spreading the daily talking points of the Senate GOP ... who, by hte way, are the very cause of dysfunction in Albany and were in charge as Upstate got the shaft for the last decade.

While walking in Clayton the other day, I had to wait at the curb while a big white SUV ran a stop sign. The driver was on a cell phone and It had Bobby Cantwell signs plastered all over it.
