State Finances Getting Worse

For those of you who say there is not enough pro Renzi campaign material on this blog and too much anti Aubertine.

Well, here is food to chew on!

New York State's budget woes continue to decline as LoHud reports the budget has sprung another $1.2 billion leak, leaving revenues short of expenses for the current budget year leading to another round of cuts.

This is simply poor management by lawmakers and if they were running a private company they would be fired.

Years of spending too much, every last penny politicians could get their hands on and then some, leaving nothing to cover precarious situations like this year. New York lawmakers find themselves reacting.

Dave Renzi solutions:
1. Tax and spend policies are the problem and budget growth should not be allowed to exceed the rate of inflation.
Renzi cites his preference while Aubertine avoids that conversation because he has consistently supported excessive, out of control, double the rate of inflation spending growth which is how we got to where we are today.

2. State needs to reduce unfunded mandates on local governments and schools.
Both Renzi and Aubertine agree on this issue.

3. Maintain our fair share in proportion to other districts.
Renzi cites: school aid increased from the Governor's original proposed budget by $400 million while at the same time the aid increase in the 48th Senate district went in the opposite direction from the governor's original proposed $47 million increase to $46 million, a loss of $1 million in aid while others increased. This is a point lost on Aubertine.

You guys might want to tell your boy Bobby Cantwell that the state is broke, he's looking to hand out tax breaks to anyone with an open hand.

And what is Addie Jenne Russell doing? It certainly isn't fiscal restraint!

This website has become such a party line joke. It's so sad, I thought there would be real discussion, not you putting up Renzi's press releases all day every day.

I am friggin impressed. Renzi is flush with cash from out of town. Add that to the money he steals from the retirement and you have another wild-ass spending lawyer heading to albany. All that tells me is that someone from out of town NEW YORK CITY FOR EXAMPLE IS TRYING TO TELL US HAYSEEDS WHO TO SEND THEM. SCREW THEM.

I find it odd that someone would want retirement credits for coaching a high school team.

" . . . school aid increased . . . in the 48th Senate district . . . to $46 million, a loss of $1 million in aid while others increased."

A $46 million increase is a decrease. Huh?

"He got a bigger piece of the pie than me, Ma!"

"Tax and spend policies are the problem and budget growth should not be allowed to exceed the rate of inflation."

Do you even see the conflict in these two statements? And they are from the very same posting.

You write like you are chasing your own tail.

You may find it odd, however it is legal unlike for lawyers. Football coaches are legitimate employees of the school district, unlike Dave Renzi who was an independent contractor who provided a service for a town.

Private businesses, Dave Renzi's firm, for example, are responsible for their own benefits, including retirement.

That is why Republicans, like George Bush have always tried to "privatize" government; to avoid having to pay government benefits.

However, good George Bush Republicans, like those of the Renzi firm still enjoy those benefits and sometimes "fudge a little, or claim not to understand, or lie about changing rules so they too can enjoy the benefits.

He was writing, you were reading.

I understood it, why couldn't you?

There is a very good explanation of this economic melt down in the Advance News, Sunday. Just goes to show you how the rich get richer on the backs of the American public with no over sight.
